Harris Premier 731 L.G Harris 731 5m Premier Extension Pole

This is an excellent quality pole perfectly designed and made for all sorts of jobs besides the obvious decorating high walls with a roller. As stated in the description, it extends to about 5m using twist clamps to set the length. The twist camps are very effective and you need to be quite careful not to over-tighten them or they can be very difficult to undo. As a guide, 5 m is enough to reach the gutters of a normal two-storey house.It comes supplied with an aluminium Acme threaded end and a cone screwed onto the end as an adaptor for many standard tools.I use this pole for all sorts of high-reach jobs like window cleaning and gutter cleaning/emptying and do it all from ground level. It is quite whippy when extended with a heavy brush on the end, but this is an advantage! Waving it from side to side at just the right frequency gives a great scrubbing motion which is ideal for many high-reach jobs especially scrubbing algae off the underside of gutters! I've lashed a bike mirror to it and used it to inspect the inside of my gutters. It was a fun operation! It gave me the flavour of how dentists operate when inspecting the backs of your teeth.I also use it indoors with Unger Wall Brush Oval for keeping the entire house cobweb free and dusting on top of door frames, tall furniture and the insides of window reveals etc. The folks at my local church have borrowed it for the same purpose. Maybe that will be a few years less in purgatory for me.Acme threaded brushes aren't easy to find in the UK. My solution for this was to buy some of these: 2 x RoDo Extension Pole Adapters | Decorators Extension Pole Screw Thread To Push Fit Converters and to fix them into brush heads. I also bought one of these: Mr LongArm Adjustable Angle Pole Adapter - 270 Degree Rotation which has a female and male Acme thread and gives a great flexibility.One of these poles plus the assorted bits and pieces will enable you to do lots of jobs both inside and outside the house and possibly in the garden as well. Highly recommended.

I was a bit dubious at first about using this pole to clean gutters but took a punt after coming home to an overflowing gutter nightmare.The pole is of decent quality for the price, came well packed and is easy to extend and retract as needed.Plenty long enough to reach my second storey guttering without any steps or ladders. Used with a Pro Gutter angle adapter and a Pro Gutter scraper tool.Took seconds to put together and worked well. I used a square scraper to suit my gutters, Pro Gutter offer several different types for sale here on Amazon.

I needed a long sturdy pole to wash the windows of our first floor flat. I teamed it up with a Harris dual head window cleaner (cleaner pad and sqeegee) and the whole thing is perfect for cleaning windows. This pole is a solid, we'll made piece of kit. A great quality product. I bought this pole to clean the outside of first floor windows on our home, planning to research later a suitable connecting squeegee & microfiber window washer. At the same time I bought the MR. SIGA Window Cleaning Combo - Squeegee & Microfiber Window Washer, Size: 35cm for the downstairs window. But the nice bonus surprise was to find that the Mr Siga fit snugly on the end of the L.G Harris 731 5m Premier Extension Pole and hold securely enough to clean the upstairs windows. There is a rubberised cone on the end of the pole which one is supposed to unscrew to reveal the treaded end of the pole on which to fit attachments with the appropriate tread. BUT leaving the cover on gives quite a good grip when sliding the hollow handle of the squeegee and window washer handles down on to the cone. So after using the MR. SIGA Squeegee, I lower the pole and replace the squeegee with the MR. SIGA Microfiber Window Washer. After that is finished, I then wrap a clean old towel over the Microfiber Window Washer and rub around the window edges to remove any wet streaks. The whole thing works brilliantly. Oh and by the way, the MR. SIGA Window Cleaning Combo - Squeegee & Microfiber Window Washer work brilliantly on the downstairs windows too. Hope this helps.

An extending pole of this length was need to fix onto a hook gadget to clear out a gutter. We waited a very long time for it, I mean months and months, as it was out of stock, but our determination (obstinacy?) has paid off, for a shorter one would have been useless. Amazon kept us informed throughout, so we did not feel forgotten. They gave us the option to withdraw from the purchase of course, but we hung in there -and are so pleased we did! And when we have to paint the very high ceilings of our old house, it will have another use too, to fix a roller onto. Another advantage is that the head appears to be universal so accepts lots of other gadgets.

It is a good quality product but can be too flexible depending on the angle you use it. Just a pity the is no locking pin/mechanism on the top of the pole to hold brushes etc in place.Mine came damaged with minor scratches and dents but still worked and I looked to return it not because it didn't do the job but because it had these imperfections etc.

A tool I find very useful to reach almost any part of our property. I have purchased adapters for mop-heads and window-cleaning tools to fit onto this pole and they all work very well. When the pole is fully extended, a window-cleaning head is fitted and full of water and the pole is held out horizontally, there is a small bend on the pole shape, but it is still possible to handle with some precision. There has to be a compromise between the thickness of the pole and the weight, so that it is usable to its maximum length. The makers of this pole have made the balance perfectly and it is both light and rigid enough to use with some precision. The joints tighten easily and make the pole easy to manipulate with tools at length, with a good degree of control.
