A useful,good value mower.
I previously owned a Flymo Easi Glide 300D model for about 7 years ...until two weeks ago, just starting the second cut of the year, a distracted, clumsy, senior ran over the mains cable; Cheers mum for the safety, power breaker device you insisted on buying me all those years ago. This mower is lighter and seems less durable because of the thinner, less rigid plastic used in part of the construction but this is subjective. I am confident that Flymo will not have risked their reputation and will have carried out reasonable testing. The most obvious redesign is that the lid above the grass box now hinges forward and thus eliminates the irritating possibility of a disfunctional owner jamming the lid in the the folded handle. How would this happen? Well as some owners have complained, there is no cable tidy. I wind the cable hand to elbow and then store the majority of it in the grass box. If the lid is then opened to retrieve the cable before the handle is unfolded ....'D..., I've done it again!! The cable is slightly longer than before but why would it need to be longer still? Much easier to run over if there is plenty of slack cable lying around!I only add an extension cable when my mowing reaches the top end of the lawn.Grass cuttings blowing everywhere? Far less if the mower is pushed straight ahead. Whilst it can be used by swaying it side to side ...more fun! The grass box is designed to take in the grass cuttings from a forward motion ...look at the box yourself. Does not cut the grass short enough? Straight out of the box with only one spacer already in place, the setting is only useful for cutting the lawn when returning from a two week holiday. Add one extra spacer and the cut is good enough for the majority of British utilitarian lawns. Add three spacers and the lawn may look initially more manicured but it is weakened enough to have trouble in dry conditions without watering. Need your grass shorter still??Without much additional care weeds and moss problems will follow and you really need a more finely tuneable mower. Overall I was happy enough to order a near identical replacement mower to the one I previously owned. There have been a few improvements to this 300G but it's main virtues are still intact.I am currently very pleased with this purchase. Fit for purpose if you follow the instructions. (pic; after one cut with my new 300G fitted with two spacers) No link to Flymo or Amazon!

Grrrreeeeeaaattt
I've never had a garden before my new home as I lived in a top floor flat (georgouois views). It a small garden probably about 15sq m, great as I don't have time for gardening! The grass eventually grew to the point even the Mrs commented on it, and when that happens it means the lazy, reluctant husband (me) has to do something about it!The way my brain works is I have to research everything to death before I make a decision on how/what/when I should part with my hard earned cash...well actually I don't work that hard but in the interest of trying to make my self look good....anyway back to the reviewI'd heard of flymo before - I didn't grow up in a box with limited contact to the outside world - so after 8 days of careful deliberation I picked this flymo.I was dubious about the hover function (come on this isn't back to the future and I'm not Marty mcfly) but it actually works! It doesn't hover like said hover board but it does sort of glide across the grass. Easy to on and off and the cable is quite long. The bin is really easy to empty as long as it's not windy ( or you get grass all over you face And your son decides to start calling you captain grass beard)It has 3 spacers which allow you to cut the grass to 3 lengths. You have to use the supplied spanner to remove or add the spacers. Easy enough.Although it collects 80% of the grass it still spitss some out...which my research tells me is a good thing because you create mulch. A good thing. Look it up.Would I buy this again? No because I already have one hahah! Kidding! I would if I had didn't have one. For £60 this isn't cheap or expensive so it fits right in with my buying habits.I took some before and after pics as they speak a million words (or something like that) so I hope it helps you make a decision. This was done with 1 spacer, which is the highest setting and leaves the grass long/tall.Pros;Reputable brandEasy to operateKind of compact- when folded down but I have a garage to store it in so don't have storage issuesDoes a good jobCons:As the bin doesn't have a window I have to stop every so often to check if it's fullBit of a pain to clean but all lawn mowers are (you have to break a few eggs to make an omelette)

Impressive hover lawn mower for small/medium gardens
I am writing this review having owned a flymo easi glide 300 for approximately 5-6 years now. I have actually been so impressed with the product that I have since bought 2 additional ones for family members. The lawn mower is exceptionally lightweight and manouverable. Setup is very straightforward - just add the grass collection basket, plug into mains 3 pin (or extension cord) and press start. The mower has a fan that provides lift and enables it to hover above the grass so that it can be moved in any direction with ease (as opposed to lawn mowers with wheels which can only move forwards and backwards). The height can be adjusted with stepper nuts so that you can choose how long or short to cut the grass. The collection basket can be easily removed for tipping of grass cuttings or can be left off to allow mulching of the cuttings. The only disadvantages on the mower are that the width is quite narrow, so it does take quite a few passes in order to provide a thorough cut of the lawn without leaving uncut strips. To change the height of the grass it's a little bit of a faff compared to petrol mowers that has an easy lever, but once you have decided on your preferred length of grass then it's not too much of an issue.
