It works!!!
This is a game changer. What a difference this has made to our lives as well as our dog! Walking on choke collar, harness with front and back loop, neck collar… nothing was working and it was quite awful. She was pulling so hard, and leaping in the air, spinning, you name it. This figure 8 has been wonderful. Our dog stopped pulling and now walks beside us. Who knew a lead could make SUCH a difference. The only downside is she chewed off the rubber stopper, but that’s our fault! Bought another lead.

works , almost perfect no more sore joints
We have an 11 month old springer spaniel and have tried all types of leads and harness. Our lad is like a dancing bear on two legs lunging and squealing or on all fours and pulls like a sledge dog and panting like a mad thing .He had pulled me over three times .From the moment we used this lead the changes in our dog were amazing .After taking him around the garden a few times we went out road walking and I have to say this is almost perfect worth spending that much extra on a lead. This lead is very comfortable to hold and the dog walks with the lead slack most of the time .He does try to remove it from his nose and managed to make his nose bleed by rubbing it on the pavement within the first few days . he has continued to improve though although he dislikes it put on .After a couple of weeks though the small clasp that clips to the collar broke one day when he suddenly lunged forward for a ball that was thrown by someone else. We decided due to the initial cost of the lead we would return it. We were unable to send the item back as the agent had no return labels for several days .We have now decided to repair the clasp ourselves and bought a pack of carabiner clasp , these work as well if not better than the original clasp. He still has moments when he tries to remove the lead from his snout but the improvement in his walking is amazing.

Ok but not sure on strength of material, lots of stretch
I’ve not used as a figure of 8 yet, this will take some time to desensitise my dog to something around her nose. I think though it will be effective and comfortable for her as the lead itself is soft and has some stretch. It doesn’t feel as strong or robust as other slip leads I have and because there is so much stretch it doesn’t work for me to walk my dog as a slip lead only. Nice thickness, seems comfortable on my dogs neck (she’s a golden retriever) and feels nice and comfortable to hold as it’s soft material. Nice bright pillar box red colour which I liked. I also like the stopper, it’s wide enough that there is no way it will slip through the metal ring. I paid around £14 and was happy with that at time of purchase putting trust in the dog and field range but 1 star off as im not sure of the strength of the lead. I just don’t feel confident it would withstand if my dog was to pull as she does at the moment. This will be a good lead I think when I’ve trained a little more on loose lead walking

Most amazing purchase I've ever bought
Like most people in the reviews, we were really struggling with our 7 month old Working Cocker Spaniel and his desire to pull whilst walking, every other style of lead couldnt control his pulling, even a standard slip lead; he would come home with bloodshot eyes from strangle himself. Walking him became emotionally and mentally hard, a chore, not enjoyable. I bought the Figure8 hoping it would be as good as the reviews on here, me and my wife have been blown away by how could the lead has been. Day 1 we struggled to get it on him, and walked him briefly in the garden, he fought to get it off his mouth. Day 2 we again struggled to get it on him, due to wriggling, this time he again fought the lead and tried to get it off for around a minute, then i upped the pace of my walking and he immediately fell into the heal position and almost trotted next to me, we did our normal hour loop of the neighbourhood with him in heal postion. Day 3 he again struggled to let us put it on, but he immediately fell into heal position and trotted again for his normal walk Day 4 we noticed he was way less 'Spaniel crazy' around the house and sitting more, he allowed us to put the lead on while he sat, and again immediately fell into heel position and walked next to us calmly. This lead is just amazing, and I urge anyone who has a dog that pulls to give it a try. Be patient with the training, but the rewards are out of this world. The lead now is really easy to put on, it has a little clip that goes on the dogs collar, and it sits in the perfect position under the dogs ears. Amazing product, I have no negative feedback to add. Thank you so much!

Complete transformation in the first walk
I bought this yesterday for my 10 month old golden retriever who pulls like mad. Here's my account of the first day. I consider myself quite capable at dog training but, whilst he excels in all other areas, I just can't control his excitement on a walk. He pulls constantly despite stopping and taking a few steps back when he reaches the end of the lead. Food helps for a bit as do toys but it's all short term and he's straight back to the end of the lead within no time. When he sees another dog he's absolutely crazy, choking himself to try and get closer. When I walk him on a short lead for greater control he's just leaning into it permanently. I feel like I've tried everything and it's been quite upsetting as walks have become a stressful chore and on occasion I've had second thoughts about dog ownership (I know it's terrible that I'd think that but it's the truth). I've been really worried that my wife who's 6 months pregnant might get pulled over and injured so she can't walk him any more. After a 5:30am walk yesterday with no distractions but still no progress I was at my wits end and decided to try one of these based on the advice of our local puppy trainer. It arrived within a day and I was desperate to try it out. Firstly,it was very easy to put on. I've seen some reviews on here saying it's confusing but it's not at all. Really simple figure of 8 then tighten the rubber bit up behind his head. To start with I tried it on him in the house and he absolutely hated it & made a big point about rolling around on the floor, trying to pull it off his face (which he achieved a few times but I hadn't fitted it that tight) and generally being a big grump. When he stopped acting out I would ply him with food which helped and I eventually got some disjointed walking around the kitchen. After that I took it off and gave him a rest for a bit. About an hour later I decided to test it out on a walk. Again, he was pawing at his face a lot, lying down at every opportunity to roll about and now and then just stopping to be in a mood. HOWEVER - he wasn't pulling like normal. Even when a dog off the lead was in his face he just lay down upset about being so hard done by. We made it to the field and I let him off for a run around and some fetch then he was back on the lead. He was still a bit upset about it but was beginning to ignore it and just focus on the walk. I was still using all the usual tactics of stopping and taking some paces back if he reached the end so as not to reward him by going forwards on a tight lead. Straight away this was an improvement over yesterday. Whilst he would still get to the end of the lead now and then he clearly didn't like it and would come back to heel. By the end of around 30 mins more walking he was incredibly well behaved to the point that I let my wife take him. Even with dogs and children near by and being walked by someone he's not so used to the worst he did was stood still at the end of the lead a bit to watch other dogs. No pulling forwards. He was very compliant and seemed to learn from the training processes we were going through rather than them having no effect like our usual walks. In short, this has been transformational in just one walk. I'm honestly so pleased with it, hence taking the time to write this review. If I had one gripe it would be that there's a little bit of thread pulled on the lead by his nose where perhaps he's rubbed it with his claw or on something sharp whilst trying to get it off. I'll need to keep an eye on the durability over time but I don't think he'll try and push it off any more. The next step is to put him on it at puppy training class tomorrow night where he was a million and one distractions but I'm quietly confident that he will set a shining example for the other dogs. If the above story is close to home for you then don't hesitate in buying this, get one now. Make sure to use it as a tool to supplement consistent and humane training techniques with lots of encouragement for your dog and you won't be disappointed. 5 stars all day long.

Brilliant
We have owned this lead for around 5 months now and it has been one of the best purchases I’ve made. My boxer dog is very strong and was in the habit of pulling on walks which were becoming unenjoyable. I was initially a little hesitant due to boxers being brachycephalic and was unsure of the fit around the nose. But following a recommendation from a friend and after reading reviews on Amazon I went ahead and purchased the lead to try and I wasn’t disappointed. We have used this lead on almost all walks and the difference is huge. It’s like walking a completely different dog. Walks are so much more pleasurable, no more aching arms and no more lunging. My dog wasn’t a fan of the lead to start with and for the first few weeks spent most of the walk at the beginning trying to get it off. However, this quickly became less and less each time. Now he only occasionally paws at it, which is usually after he’s pulled slightly and made it tight around his nose, which I loosen a little and he seems happy again. The lead is a good length and is easy to put on and take off. The only minor criticism I would highlight is the very small clasp that’s used to connect the lead to the collar. I have not managed to use this as it is too small to connect to the chunky collar, however I still would not trust this as the reserve mechanism for a dog of this size. I have therefore used a stronger carabiner clip to secure to the collar which works well. Overall, I am very pleased with this purchase and would have no hesitation purchasing this lead again in the future. Happy owner and happy dog 🐾

It hurt my boy so badly he had to go to the vets!
Our boy hated it! He hides every time he sees it, will drag his face down the driveway and through the gravel and make his face and gums bleed so we put it away for a while, he’s now 3 and is very strong!! My husband has tried it again with him and he still runs at sight of it, however once it’s on he does get excited for a walk-he’s been using it daily for 4/5 weeks and it has caused a big ridge on his nose where it has rubbed and caused a scab, also where he has been pulling and the lead has got tangled it’s pulled up around his eye and caused some damage which he had to see the doggy Dr for! unfortunately this has also caused him to itch his face in the carpet/bed with his paws/claws and he’s ended up with a very sore face all over :( we are having to keep an eye to make sure it doesn’t get infected. The lead itself is not very strong as described, it is fraying and the rubber stopper has become loose and has really had very little use. I am looking for a new type of halti that is more padded and will distribute the pressure more than a small rope across his nose! I do not agree with other reviews on the quality and durability I’m afraid it is poor & poor design! it hurt my boy so I’m not impressed-I’m not one to leave bad reviews but my fur babies are everything to me! I would NOT recommend. Would be 0 stars if I could.

Amazing results
Why didn't I buy this sooner?!! This is a game changer. Our 5 month old McNab/Border Collie is quite skittish so pulls VERY hard normally when walking. With arthritis in my hands, it is very difficult for me to walk her, plus the leash I was using would give me "leash burns" on my hands from her bolting and pulling. This leash is very easy to put on her, feels nice to hold and has a bungy-like effect, so if she does try to bolt, it doesn't feel like my arm will be dislocated. However, she doesn't pull AT ALL with this leash. As long as I keep the neck loop cinched high behind her ears, she is extremely responsive and stays right next to me. She has tried to pull a couple times, but quickly realizes how this tightens around her nose and behind ears and immediately stops. I have already recommended this leash to a co-worker who has a dog who also pulls. My dog also normally bites at the leash so I would have to put a muzzle on her most times when walking, but with this leash, she doesn't try any of that behavior. I also like the fact that since it doesn't have a specific nose loop (like a head halter), I have the option to simply use it as a slip leash around her neck for a quick outing to go potty, or from the house to the car, etc.

Mycket nöjd med detta retriverkoppel. Viktigt att lära sig hur det skall användas rätt. Kolla Cesar Millan som ofta visar vart och hur man använder det.

It's kool
I got this less than a week ago because my dog likes to pull in every direction and needing a good handle on him, how ever, I ended up buying another one from a local warehouse for much cheaper than this price and for the same thing, so price wise it is very expensive, when I realised I went to cancel this one, only to find that it was already shipped, I won't be sending it back and will be keeping it as a back up incase my other breaks, but having the same mechanics, it works amazing! He stops pulling when on short lead, and he's learning on a longer lead. Also recommend a product like this, but perhaps a cheaper one though.
