Purchased for Labrador puppy. Good price & quality, easy to assemble

The crate is robust with a matt silver finish which will not chip, and it comes with a lipped tray.Fairly easy to fold out into a crate shape.We found a few issues which need to be addressed by Ellie-Bo.1. A separator panel should be included. This will allow users to separate off a smaller area for a small puppy and then enlarge it as the puppy grows, saving the need to buy a new crate and spend even more money. We bought this crate and used some firm wire and cable ties to make a smaller partition. If you do this take great care to make the edges of the wire safe for the puppy, We used a heavy duty tape to fold over the edge of the partition wire.2. The doors do not open fully back and so stick out into the room/corridor, which could be a nuisance3. There should be an option for left or right side hinging on both doors, or the doors should be removable, (or the crate should be usable upside down; more details in next section). We placed our crate in our utility, and found the 'sticking out' doors a real inconvenience in our particular positioning. As the crate is left open all day for the puppy to go inside as he pleases, the doors were continually in the way. So, we decided to turn the crate upside down, which reversed the hinging of the doors, which was perfect for our setup. We manoeuvered the tray round to the other side, (it needed a little final persuasion as it was a tight fit), and felt really pleased with ourselves. However, later in the day we noticed our puppy standing on his hind legs with his head protruding through the holes in the top of the crate. It was then that we realised that the 'official' bottom of the crate, (which has the tray standing on it), had much larger gaps (4 inch x 4 inch). So we ended up attaching some more wire over the holes, so that our puppy didn't hurt himself. Overall, what a palava.This crate is very good quality and has the potential to give it's users the scope for integrating it perfectly into their household.I hope Ellie-Bo come across this review and find the proposals worth considering. At a future date when our puppy is no longer a puppy, we will need to get the 'large' crate, and it would be great to see these issues resolved.If they are, we'll be buying their grate without reservation. If they don't, we'll look around at other crates before making our final decision.In the meantime, we hope potential purchasers find our experience useful.

I had borrowed a cage from a friend after my dogs accident but unfortunately it was needed back. I had already brought an orthapaedic bed to fit the cage I had borrowed and this one had the same measurements so was easy to switch the bed over. Happy with the cost and quality. I especially appreciate the small curve on the end of the bolts which the previous cage didn't have to make sure the bolt doesn't work its way loose.

We have bought two excellent collapsible Ellie-Bo dog crates (perfect for a grown Cocker Spaniel). Ladies, mind your nails when collapsing this! It does collapse with a bit of pressure/use of pliers, but is probably only meant to collapse occasionally rather than daily.The metal tray is easy to remove/reinsert and clean. The door latches are secure and quick and easy to slide.The SLANTED version comes with an excellent machine washable, quick drying fleece. For our puppy we have added newspaper under the provided fleece and have added a vet grade whelping fleece on top. I recommend buying a spare fleece: one on, one in the wash.We have the slanted model for the car and the regular (medium) size for the house.CAR: As the cage does not have a SIDE opening, we are unable to place the cage sideways in the car - it fits very well, but quite wide across the width of the boot.UNDER STAIRS: again, we are unable to take advantage of the slant to fit the cage under our open kitchen stairs as there is no side door. Therefore the cage takes up the width under our stairs. Which works very well but is not entire economical of space use. We therefore bought the RECTANGULAR version to keep permanently at home. 30" is perfect for a fully grown Cocker Spaniel - the 36" overly large.The separately sold water bowl holder with removable bowl is the ideal and practical accessory. Quick and easy to unscrew when you collapse the cage.I thoroughly and cheerfully recommend this sturdy Ellie-Bo cage.

Das preisgünstige Teil wurde sehr schnell geliefert und entsprach meinen Erwartungen. Es ist meine zweite Bestellung. Ein Verbesserungsvorschlag: die Maschenweite des Bodenelements sollte enger sein, Waschbären schaffen es die mitgelieferte die Bodenwanne zu verbiegen und hochzuheben und entkommen dann durch den Boden. Ich habe die Käfige deswegen etwas modifiziert um dieses zu verhindern. (S. Abb.)
