Sonos Killer (at least for one-touch music)
Great looks (in white); rich, clear sound with decent bass; and the ability to press ONE SINGLE BUTTON to get any one of 6 pre-defined music streams playing instantly. To me, that is worth twice its asking price, before considering the build quality, useful OLED info display, etc. I could say something non-PC and derogatory about WAF, but the truth is nobody wants to faff about with an app to get music playing (sorry, Sonos). Just tap one button on the unit or the remote (sorry again Sonos) and your music starts playing in seconds. The PC app is lovely and simple too (but please get it on Windows Phone Bose, there is a tiny and vocal minority if WP fans out there); allowing you to set up the 6 presets easily, from any source you like. I would love to fill my house with these lovely gadgets, and have my eyes on the a SoundTouch 30 - however note that Amazon is not the cheapest for the larger unit (last time I checked)

Bose Soundtouch 20 III - First Impressions Very Good!
I ordered the Soundtouch 20 Series III to use in a large conservatory/dining room (got the white to blend in with the decor!). I had a Sonos Play 3 about 5 years ago and after two failures in the space of several months didn't consider that as an option. In addition, I preferred the additional benefits of Bluetooth and the display. The Soundtouch turned up today. Within 10 minutes, it was up and running! The set up comprised of plugging the unit into the mains, downloading the Soundtouch app (creating an account was quick), pairing to the unit, entering the WiFi password and installing an automatic update.I linked the app to my Spotify Premium account and it all works seamlessly (whether it is via Android or iOS), as does internet radio, which I am listening to as I type. I have yet to try the Bluetooth connectivity, which will be useful for the TV or any other media on our phones or tablets. There are 6 preset buttons on the unit and in the app that can be assigned to internet radio stations or playlists/albums on the available streaming platforms which is really useful. In terms of sound quality, I have adjusted the bass down to -1 (or -2) depending on the music to give a slightly better balance. The sound is clear and goes very loud!Overall, my initial impressions are very positive and would recommend this for anyone looking for a well built, wireless speaker that can fill a medium to large room.

Great kit, good sound, iffy app!
Already had the 10, decided to add a 20. Like the 10 this is a great bit of kit. Recently updated app continues to improve the experience. Easy to use whether your source is Spotify, Bluetooth etc or via my Nas drive. Only downside is the current absence of Amazon music ( in the U.K.) Sound is excellent as you would expect from Bose. Some 19 month now down the line and still enjoying both this a my 10. Amazon music has now been on for a few months and is a nice addition. Only slight downside is the app is a bit meh! It's functional but could look and feel better I think. Don't let that small point put you off buying.Edit: Feb 19.2 years down the line, still a 5 star machine. Has been very reliable. Amazon music now on its capabilities, along with ability of sorts to connect Alexa, if that’s your thing.App is still not the best, but for me overall, it still offers more than Sonos etc.Well worth the purchase.

...typical rich bose sound, terrible iOS application, horrendous wifi connectivity
Pros:* Bass adjustment utility very welcome.* Retaining the bluetooth connectivity on this devise by Bose is good (probably the only reason I kept it)Good design* Preset buttons to which you can programme station or particular song channels - really handyCons:* Horrible horrible wifi connection. Still beats me why Bose hasn't addressed this issues despite many complaints from Users. Loses connection to wifi, even when standing in front of the router.* Clunky iOS software - surely Bose you can do better than this. This is a premium product.* Remote control made of cheap material. Had it for only 3 months before I had to start using a duct tape to hold my battery in place.

Great sound and easy to set up
We looked hard at both the Bose and Sonos speakers and eventually went for the Bose on the grounds that it would fit into a particular space on the bookcase which the Sonos would not. We are delighted with the choice not just because it fits well into a narrow space but because the sound is simply excellent. Regardless of the size of the unit the quality of sound across the spectrum is tremendous - I write as someone who was for many years something of a hi-fi aficionado, used to large speaker systems; something my wife detests. This is a great alternative to the large units of the past. It is easy to set up and use (far more so, we now understand than the Sonos). It can be controlled from any of our devices: phones, tables to laptops. We love it.

Great sound but not for a home theatre effect
Great sound, but not what you would purchase if you needed to enhance your home theater with some Soundtouch 10 speakers. There is a considerable delay (about 2 sec) between this speaker and the Soundtouch 10 speakers. It's a good wireless/Bluetooth speaker, though.

Very good!
Bought this to replace a majority radio as sound quality was tinny. The Bose speaker is really good, not as much base as a previous Bose speaker I had for a computer but still really good. Only have option to increase or decrease base with this speaker. No option to adjust treble. Screen is readable from all angles and is very clear. Response to changing internet radio stations is nearly instant and so many good stations, my favorite is a Spanish 90s dance station at the moment, plays all the tunes from the good old days! Also good for connecting Bluetooth and playing audiobooks etc. from your phone. Can only set 6 preset stations so can only select these with the remote control. Anymore and you have to use the app on your phone. Summary...I really like this speaker.

Steer clear to avoid disappointment
Arbitrary app updates that you have no control over can make your device go from being great to being useless. See attached. No apologies - just 'we've decided to do this and tough luck if it impacts you'. So be warned - you may be delighted today but no guarantee that Bose may decide to make a change and just force it on you.
