Poor battery. Screen too dim for use outdoors
After reading many reviews, the three problems I encountered were not a complete surprise. Loud Fan, although it was so loud I'm sure it was a fault. Poor battery. Screen too dim for use outdoors. Therefore I am planning to return. The issues most likely explain the heavily discounted price by Asus.

Very very noisy
The machine is so noisy I had to shelf it and buy another one, It is impossible to use.It also has other problems, like frequent appearances from the blue screen of death and jamming ... despite having had it seen to a few times. Not happy with the product at all

Too loud
Pros:Touchscreen is nice and battery life can last, compact design.Cons:It's not worth the buy, it's supper loud, sitting in the leactures or at work, especially if you trying to sleep, if you don't mind the noise it's a decent buy, although it easily overheats and starts lagging.

Keeps crashing
If you forgot how annoying the Blue Screen of Death used to be buy this. Also the touch pad on the key board is incredibly poor

A few major issues let this down
Like many other users, I have found that this product is massively let down by a few major problems. It is near perfect, but I now feel that I wasted my money trusting it would be a great product. I knew about the battery issues going in, but did not realise quite how bad the battery life was going to be. 2 hours max use under normal circumstances. You can squeeze 3.5 hours if you manually kill a bunch of programs and keep the screen dimmed, but it's rubbish. The other major issue is that this device regularly freezes so you have to hard restart the unit, and recently it has developed a huge problem where I get blue-screened about once a day. I now see the product has been discounted by 50%. Given the chance, I would return the item for something else. It's a real shame, as when it is plugged in and functioning, it is a brilliant little device. But I wold not recommend anyone else spend the money on it until they fix the issues.

Great tablet\laptop.
Fast and a beautiful screen. Fan can be loud but only comes on when it is under load. Very impressed so far. Battery life is just acceptable and ok if you put it in battery saver mode, it still runs pretty quick in this mode too.

Don't touch with a 10 foot pole
Good Idea - Poorly Executed - Appallingly SupportedI bought this in July for my son to go to university with. After 2 months (hardly used over the summer). A key has fallen off the keyboard. This level of quality is poor and not acceptable in the modern market.Retailer says that Asus provide support direct, and want the whole thing back and take about 3 weeks - not acceptable in today's market.I contacted Asus directly and pointed out that with most of it working, making it unavailable for use because of a simple problem with an accessory part was unnecessary and unacceptable. Their response is that I broke it. The repair is chargeable, and they want £45 just to look at it.Given this, the operational problems, the manufacturing faults, and the similar experiences around support, reported by other reviewers, I can only conclude that this a poor design and Asus don't care. Despite the inconvenience, I am getting a full refund from the retailer.Don't buy this. Don't buy Asus
