An amazing little HDMI switching device; simple to use and great value for money
This Betron HDMI 3 port Switch device is amazing. I am not a technie chap but our Samsung TV has only two HDMI ports but I have three gadgets I plug into it on a fairly frequent basis (an Amazon Fire Stick, a Freesat box and a DVD player). This meant I was constantly having to unplug one of the HDMI leads if I wanted to use the third 'unplugged' unit. This Betron has made this 'switching' a thing of the past as I now have all three units plugged into the Betron unit. What also amazed me was: how easy it was to set up (it took less than three minutes to have it set up and running perfectly); how small the gadget is (it is about 2 inches wide by 2 inches deep by about 0.5 inches high ... and is very light in terms of weight); how it is powered through the HDMI leads (so you don't need to use any other plugs / leads to power it); how there is no lag between sound and picture no matter which device you are using; and how it automatically changes to the device you have most recently turned on. There is also a button on the box that enables you to change the source units manually but I cannot think of any reason for doing this.In addition, the television picture quality is vastly improved but I think this may be down to the new HDMI leads I bought at the same time (Betron HDMI to HDMI Cable, High Speed, 3D Support, Ethernet Function, 4K Support, HDMI Lead for TV, Laptops, PS3, PS4 , Xbox etc (1.2 Meter)). I had bought these cables as I had read somewhere that it was important to have good quality HDMI cables to ensure the switch box was 'powered' and to ensure you have good picture quality. What I hadn't expected was how greatly improved the picture quality was on the television.Well I cannot think of anything else to say about this terrific little unit other than it is simple to set up, simple to use, great value for money and I wish I had come across it a couple of years ago! I hope you find this review helpful and can only apologise if you were hoping for a more technical review of the product.

Excellent, compact and easy. Does exactly what it says on the tin for a fair price.
I have a HD TV with only 2 HDMI ports. I have a YouView box, a Bluray and NowTV.This device on the budget end of similar switches is perfect for my needs. If you put the device you have been using into standby (eg YouView) and power up your next required device (eg Bluray) it works like a charm. For NowTV which does not have a standby mode and is always providing a signal to the TV(even in sleep mode) - I do have to use the manual selector button on the switch to select to and from that device - BUT I knew I would have to do that anyway when I ordered it, for me it is not a problem. It is far less stressful than trying to fiddle behind the TV in the darkness trying to swap cables around, and less dangerous too! Some more expensive switches that have remote controls for selecting require a power adapter - IE ANOTHER mains plug and ANOTHER remote. For me this unit was the simplest option. So far it has given me no problems and works like a dream. Its reasonably small and easy to hide everything away while keeping it accessible if you ever do need to use the switch. Now I have a free HDMI port on my TV I can use with my Raspberry Pi or other temporary swapable devices. You will need an additional HDMI lead,if you only have one for each of your devices, my tip is try a poundshop, they are just as good as ones costing over 20x in most cases and they can cope with full HD 3D signals if you need that. Don't let the sales assistant trying to sell you a lead for £35 tell you any different. If I am wrong - you only wasted £1.

It works reasonably well and is easy to use
Sometimes it doesn't switch seamlessly. An A/B LED would be very useful

Fantastic device
I'm a bit if a techy person compared to my friends and rather than pay for multi-room Sky and have 3 lots of dvd players etc I previously bought a 4 in x2 out matrix switcher 4 years ago. This was good but has always struggled to recognise which device is on and so always required to be switched on and off every timer turn the TV on and also then directed to the required input source for the same reason. This new Betrothed 3x1 switch is brilliant though. It's unbelievably small and doesn't even require it's own power supply but works like a dream. I was sceptical that it would even function let alone automatically change to whichever device was turned on...but it does! I'm using a brand new Sky+HD 2TB box, and Xbox360 and a Panasonic Dvd recorder all of which are left in standby mode all the time and as soon as one is activated the Bedroom box recognises and switches it to the new source immediately. I'm very impressed. The only minor improvement could be that the Hdmi inputs and output are each on one side so that when the 4 leads are plugged in it looks a bit like an octopus and as most Hdmi cables are relatively inflexible. this means the whole thing is a bit unwieldy compared to 3 in one end and 1 out the other. However. If this is an issue buy slimline hdmi cables where the wires are much more flexible. Anyway it wasn't a big deal for me and I'm being picky. Great device and great Vfm!
