Q: i've only ever used disposable razors. How easy is it to switch to using a straight razor? Im getitng this as a Xmas gift

I'm fairly new to it too, after using an electric shaver for years.The trick is learning the technique. ..keeping the blade as flat as possible, and not going over and over the same area too many times. You also need to stretch the skin properly to avoid nicks. If you look on youtube for how to use a straight razor or, even better, how to use a shavette, you'll see some helpful guys demonstrating the technique. The one I thought was best was an American guy in a head scarf who demonstrated lathering up the soap with a brush, applying the soap, then shaving in 3 different directions.Good luck. It is fun. You may lose some blood while you master the technique, but use a bar of alum and you'll be fine.

Q: Does this one come with any blades??

No it doesn't come with any you have to order them separate.

Q: How quick does it go blunt? How often should the blade be changed? And can it be used on stubble?

Well I use Derby Professional single edge razors and I only re-use the blade if I've only done a 'tidy' otherwise I change blade each time. The blade is very sharp so it can be used on stubble but you have to be very careful to stretch the skin and be sensitive to change in pressure against the skin

Q: where can i buy replacement blades? and how do i replace them?

The blades are available on Amazon or you can buy them from high street chemists and some supermarkets. Replacing them is simple - just separate the holder and place the new blade on the locating lugs. I prefer the Wilkinson Sword double edged razor blades. They are a bit more expensive but sharper and longer lasting.
