If I could give no stars I would
We seriously love our Osmo and have many other games. BUT THIS ONE IS USELESS. I made the unfortunate choice to purchase this as a present from Santa from my daughter, and it was not a good idea.Firstly, the app which is necessary to go with the books will not work anywhere outside of the US (which begs the questions why they sell it openly on overseas Amazon marketplaces).Secondly, if you are in the US and can get this to work.... NOTE THAT IT IS A PAID APP! And it's a monthly subscription to use it. So if you think you're simply buying a stand alone book with narration for your kids, think again. You'll need to pay many more $$$ to Osmo to actually activate the thing. Finally, it's a lot of money to pay for 4 tiny books, which are no better quality than something like Usborne Readers which you can buy for USD2 each.Buyer beware. We love Osmo, but think this new product (which we were very excited to try) is a TOTAL WASTE OF MONEY.

Well Worth The Money
This Osmo Advanced Reading Kit was the perfect gift for my granddaughter. I was delighted to see her having fun while working on reading skills. The reading kit was just as the seller had described and was a worthwhile purchase.

Doesn’t always correct
I’m new to osmo and so far pretty impressed with other games! This one though is designed to not over correct the child to avoid frustration but when my daughter needs help and waits to waives her wand, it doesn’t help her sound it out or tell her the word. I appreciate the encouragement to try herself, but it doesn’t seem to be more than her just reading a book.

It’s Not what I thought…
So, it’s cute and well made. I wasn’t big on the “magic” aspect of it. It’s not something that will help your child learn to read. I’m the sense of, reading to your child or having your child read along. If your child already has that basic foundation it’s good…but we needed something that was more the speed of read along etc. I returned it.

If you are an Osmo fan, then you'll probably like this also
My sons both like the Osmo apps so when I see a new Osmo game/app/activity I don't mind trying it because I know it is something they will enjoy and probably learn from. If you have a young reader then this is a good addition; it encourages reading while making it fun and interactive (and creates some free time for the parent).Pros:- Osmo experience is similar to other Osmo apps so it is familiar and easy to start if your kids use Osmo already- The whole experience is fun; reading, interacting, etc. It just feels like the kids are having a good experience as they do this, it is well made for their minds / attention.Cons:- It gets a little repetitive, but we limit screen time so it hasn't been a real issue.- There is definitely some parent involvement in getting everything set up and put away for the younger kids, it is not one of those things you can just go tell them to play without having to be involved to start / clean up after. If I come across any issues, I will update this review.
