Q: I have a round drain hole and i am buying one of the cast iron round drain grates so my question is do these square ones go on top of the round ones.

I have a broken grate and this fits on top of the broken one so leaves and things don’t block it

Q: do these stay firmly in place

I have had one of these in place for over a year now. It has now moved and still works very well.

Q: what is the thickness of the material please ?

I haven't measured it but it appears to be about 1mm thick, however I found it to be very sturdy - it would be difficult to bend with just your hands! I find it perfect for the job!

Q: Is the colour shiny stainless steel or brushed (more matt ) ? ( photos are different) - thanks

They appear to be matt. The ones I have are in use so it us difficult to know what the original tone was.
