Ever since I heard about off-brand chargers overheating and exploding, and noticing the same myself (the overheating part), I decided to stick to the proper brand of chargers. After all, the actual difference in cost is not that much.What's great is that if you have some other products charged via USB, it's likely you can charge them with this. I would say to check online and see if it's alright, but I use this charger for my PS4 Dualshock, and it works perfectly. I also have used it for my Kindle, and I've charged my Wii U Pro controller with this, just using the Wii U cable I received with it. Works great.I would like the option to buy an official one where the USB cable can come out of the top of it, as it's preferable for certain power outlets, but it works just fine in the place I usually charge my devices.

Personally the only down side is the usb connection is only on one side. So sometimes the connection wire has to bend around, depending where you are charging your device. If it had a USB point both sides you would get better use of your charging space.

I carry a spare charging plug as I mainly use a battery pack but just in case a plug is there if needed. I bought a Z3 Compact and it came with an original mains charger which is why I chose to purchase another one after I lost mine. After receiving item, item was stored away for 3 weeks and when I used it for the first time, item was defective and wouldn't charge phone.

I suspect this is not the real thing. Mine broke after only 9 months (intermittent charging and very slow). I wrote to the seller and they explained that the guarantee for all of their products is 90 days. Which I take to mean that they don't expect their products to continue working beyond 90 days. You'll notice that if you buy a genuine Sony charger it will come with a year's guarantee - makes you wonder why this one is only 90 days if it is indeed 'genuine'.Save up the extra pennies and buy the real deal - this one isn't worth the hassle.

Advertised was a Sony EP880 1500Ma charger, but I received the wrong charger which was a Sony Ericsson EP800 850Ma charger, it also had marks on it, which leads me to believe that it's not brand new. By looking at the reviews it seems this has happened to other people as well.

Says on ad suitable for a Sony Xperia Z1. It isn't
