Have to admit, didn't come across this little beauty by myself. It was recommended to me by a friend who's actually bought two (one for the car, one for indoors, she said). And her friend bought two too. I can see why they liked it so much cos this little widget solves the problem of where to put your phone in the car so it's visible to you, say, for SAT nav purposes and such. The pointy end fits onto the flaps of a ventilator on or above the dash so it's not fastened in any way and easily pulled off when not required.There's a plate to stick to the back of your phone (neither I nor my friends did this; we just placed it between the phone and its back cover). The plate is magnetic so it 'sticks' to the round flat bit of the Aukey. Perfect!'How is it used indoors away from the car?' I hear you ask. Well, the Aukey enables the phone to 'sit up' on a surface rather than lying flat. So, if you're watching a movie or video you can view at a comfortable angle rather than having to hold the phone or lean it against something.Put simply, it's one of those products that does exactly what it claims to do very efficiently.Buy one. Or two perhaps.

I bought this as a convenient and reasonably discreet means of mounting my phone on my dashboard while it charges rather than having it sliding around on a seat or rattling in a cup holder. I've used various mounts, from wind-screen suction mounts to air-vent clips with a clasp rather than a magnet. So far, this is the most convincing.Set up was very simple - inserting the magnetic strip provided into the inside of the phone's case was pretty well the sum of it. I'd be a little... unwilling to attach the magnet directly to my phone - apparently you can, but I'd rather nothing too permanent seeming. The magnetic holder simply clips onto an air-vent. Although universality is claimed, it might be worth thinking about whether or not your air-vents are suitable and whether or not you're willing to lose one funnel of air. Fit-wise, it seems to work well in my car, and the magnetic 'grip' on the phone through the case seems to be quite acceptable; I occasionally miss the airstream, but with a magnet device, that's easily remedied. The quality seems fairly good: the vent-grip is solid, the magnet weighty, and the block pleasantly rubberised.The packaging is nicely designed and well-considered, meaning it would make a nice stocking-filler or some such. I'd recommend it.

I love how discreet this phone holder is in the car. It fitted my air vents very firmly, although it would be easy to move to another vent if needed.There are 2 slim magnets (1 round, 1 rectangular) included in the box. I stuck the round (smaller) magnet to the inside of my phone cover, as I didn't want the magnet stuck on the phone, nor on the back of the cover, as it is not very discreet.I have a moto x style phone which, with a gel case, weighs 215g, so I think this is on the heavy side. The phone is 5.7 inch screen, so it's also fairly bulky.Whilst driving, the phone did twist slightly, but never fell off, even when going over speed humps. It is easy to remove and attach, no faffing around with clamps.I am giving this 5 stars because although the phone did twist, I think this is due to a combination of the weight of the phone, and also because the magnet on the phone is not in direct contact with the magnet on the holder, rather than a defect of the product.I may move the magnet to the outside of the phone case if it slips too much, or maybe find a more discreet replacement magnet.

Just as good as the £15 version I purchased previously (infact i'm pretty sure their identical products just branded differently). Strong magnet, and sturdy device.If you have never used a magnetic in-car dock before, don't worry about the safety aspect i.e. Will the magnet be strong enough to hold my phone - the answer is Yes. This has been much more secure than any other docks I have tried.The only issue here is the magnet - specifically how you plan to attach the thin magnet to your phone - if you use a phone case then you're fine. The rectangular magnet sits in-between your case & your phone, and works like a charm.If you use a battery pack / no case however, you will need to stick the magnet to the rear of your phone / case, which some people may be opposed to as it sticks out slightly.I would also note that care should be taken when attaching the Aukey to your Vents, as one side (arguably v.flimsy ones) in our Merc A-Class are now broken :-SAll-in-all - this is SO much better than attaching docks to your windscreen - never again!

Hubbie uses in work van for sat nav on his phone so is no distractions or lumps of plastic blocking windscreen view of falling off while driving and doesn’t squeeze the sides your phone which have previously caused my screen to come out slightly x good product tho recommend having a case on your phone as comes with 2 sticky magnets which i think are ment to stick on your phone, however have stuck to inside of case so not to ruin phone x

Been using this holder for more than a month. Absolute life saver for me. I drive a Ford Fiesta and due to the shape of the dash its difficult to have a right holder.I did not want to have any permanent attachments to the dash and hence opted for this air vent holder and it is pretty strong. I use a Samsung Galaxy S6 with a SpiGen outer cover and the magnets hold the phone very well even with the cover on.I am only using the base plate stuck to my protective cover so that the phone remains in original condition. (Check picture)Quality: 5/5Magnet strength: More than expected.Air vent holder: No rattles or less vibration on rough roads and can still hold the phone.Issues: None so far.
