Not what Shure is about
Let's get something straight... I bought this and eventually returned it. Read on to understand why.I'll go over some pros and cons generally... And then explain how I made the final decision to return it.Pros:- extremely good battery life compared to similar products... When it's fully charged the audible voice prompts say "battery more than 6 hrs" ... It usually gets to 8hrs though.- well balanced ... Other products have a mic and volume control on one side, which weighs the thing down - this has an inline battery module which helps balance the cable. Useful.- bendy ear pieces... Nice to have the same functionality as a normal cable, molds around the ear nicelyCons:- sound quality is garbage.I won't go into the technical reasons - you should Google that if you get a chance - but the sound quality is totally unacceptable. I'm assuming you bought Shure monitors because you're keen on your sound quality right? Therefore, it's a criminal offense to use these ... You might as well use apple earpods or airpods or whatever they are peddling these days... But this is not what you buy Shure IEMs for, so this product is a FAIL!

Very much a 1.0 product.
Very much a 1.0 product. I get fairly frequent audio skipping with my OnePlus 5T and my wife's iPhone in my jeans pocket and wearing these normally. Moving the big shure 'brick' round the front or back of my neck makes a difference occasionally so it's clearly just a signal quality issue. When they do work though I can't tell much difference between the stock cable on my SE535's and the BT - winner! These do *not* work properly with a 2015 13" retina macbook pro on 10.13 - skipping makes these unusable. The cables are too thin and are already showing signs of strain relief after only about 6 weeks around the exit of the big 'brick'.I very much like the functionality the product provides but I just wish it was a bit better and supported more bluetooth protocols (I believe this to be the cause of my macOS issue). I use these every day and am quite concerned about the signs of strain relief after only 6 weeks in the cable.I've also started experiencing a weird issue where they won't turn on unless given power via USB even when fully charged. Very annoying and led to a couple of silent commutes home.

Great product for Shure fans!
Updated: sending back for a replacement as their are issues with the battery life and connectivity. After about a week and connecting to a few different devices (ipad, iphone and laptop) there seems to be an issue with it staying on and charged. It says, Power On, More than 6 hours battery, Bluetooth pairing mode..when trying to pair, it automatically turns off and can only connect when plugged into a power source. There is definitely an issue with either the firmware or the battery. Hope the replacement one works out.worked perfectly, instructions are a bit unclear but through trial and error, it connected to iPhone X via bluetooth pretty easily and now reconnects quickly now it's set up. Charging cable is short, threw it away to use with a longer miniUSB cable. Defo recommend for any die-hard shure fans. It works both with my SE425 and SE535s.

share bluetooth cable.
It can and always will be said that it doesn’t matter how late you come to a party; the only thing that matters is that you come to the party and make your presence felt. So thank you to shure for a high quality, durable and much needed cable.(Speaking as an owner of a pair of SE535s, that I have had for over five years, showing no signs of audio abatement…..)Having said this there are areas that were correct, and areas that weren’t necessarily, wrong but could be considered and tackled for the next version.Beginning, with the correct areas, the overall length of the cable is spot on, and would appeal to anybody who has a large neck and or broad shoulders. The weight of the cable is good and the inclusion of the battery clip to eliminate any excessive movement and weight deferential was a definite plus, the remote/mic is a good size and seems to be easily usable. It was also good to see the inclusion of the ear “loop forming technology” around the cable immediately after the MMCX connectors (something that is missing from the Westone offering). Now on to the things that could be considered:Battery life is decent but could always be improved; so extra playing will always be a good thing; so long as there isn’t a significant increase in the overall weight. At this point it seems logical to mention; that at some point it would be nice for shure to develop a battery case; one to protect the IEMs as well as charge the cable; this would allow charging on the go.The cables seem to be a little thin; (yes there has to be a certain amount of flexibility) so in the next version of the Bluetooth cable it would be good to see the cables made tougher possibly bringing them up to par with the standard issue cables that come along with the se series IEMs when you buy them or maybe even include a braided nylon sheath as is the case with the talent audio Bluetooth cable (the one I currently use).Should the battery die completely; to the point it can’t hold charge anymore; or the inline remote break or stop working for whatever reason; that would instantly mean having to go out and buy a completely new cable; despite the fact that other parts of the cable may still be working. To get around this it would be nice to see the battery and the terminating ends of the cables incorporate the MMCX connector instead of being “rigidly” fixed, this way in the event that the inline remote fails or or the cable breaks the affected part could be replaced at a lesser cost as opposed to buying an entirely new cable. The next version of the cable should be able to support Apptix as well. Finally; part of the lure and mystique about having the se535s is being able to see all of the internal workings; so for the next version of the cable it would be nice to have a clear version as well as the standard black, so there is atleast a choice.Having taken everything into consideration, the Shure RMCE-BT1, gets 4.5/5 as it is still the best cable on the market currently.
