Komodo Habitat Moss, 1.5 Litre

This moss is great. It’s fantastic for my tarantula vivarium and it’s very easy to put where it’s needed. The tarantulas seem to like it, I would ask them but they don’t tend to speak. Can’t go wrong with it

When I first got my tortoise, and I was doing up his table, I created a humid hide using Terrarium moss from Pets At Home. OMG! That thing stunk! It was an awful assault on the nasal senses, and I swear even the tortoise would kick it out of the hide and bury it. So I did some further research I settled on this Komodo Habitat moss. When the bag arrived, it seems a lot smaller than I expected, it didn't seem like 3L, but 3L is what it says on the bag. I cracked it open and was surprised and happy to find that it didn't smell whatsoever. Well, maybe a tiny wee bit, but it was nowhere near as bad as the one I was using previously. I set up his hide, and initially he was unsure, sleeping in his other (non-humid) hides, sleeping outside the hides, sleeping on his water dish with his head hanging over the side, and just generally avoiding the humid hide. Eventually, I would find him sleeping inside the humid hide, on top of the moss, or even buried in it, seeing his little face peeking out on a morning, surrounded by mossy goodness does the heart grand. In fact, I've set up an addition mossy hide, which he is currently ignoring... Stupid tortoise... Now, admittedly, this moss doesn't seem to last that long. When it arrives, it's mostly green (ish), but despite keeping it moist, it turns to yellow and straw-like not long after first use. Still, while it lasts, and when the tortoise isn't ignoring it, it's pretty good.

Perfect moisture for Humid Hide, Not too many large bits inside. Helps with shedding. No smell

a rather tiny bag considering the cost. ive paid the same price for large ammounts of moss. I managed to find a couple of tiny living shoots of moss that i hope i can get a culture started from over time, which was not expected i might add. I fully understood that this was going to be a bag of dead moss, i only wish it was a dark brown like in the image, but its all mainly pail yellow / sandy colour. So the living green shoots were a bonus on this buy.

Really good and arrived wet too , so just need to spray it every day to keep it moist but spider loves it ,
