GMC Electric Hedge Trimmer 550W, 600mm

I knew within the first two minutes of use, that this had been the best forty-two quid I'd spent for a long time. Now, and a few days further on my opinion has not changed one bit. An overall excellent bit of kit, lightweight and easy to use. If you're a prospective customer and especially a member of the fairer sex, fear no more. Jump in with both feet and give this a go, you'll not be sorry. I was a little sorry to see however that the price had escalated by some eleven pounds-or-so a few days later but I suppose that's the way the world goes round. Nice to see also that a couple of days after that, it had dropped a pound again. I recommend this product unreservedly, and if it burnt itself out in twelve month's time I would consider that I'd had good value from it. I rather hope it doesn't though...

not as good as my old Bosch

I ordered the HT710 and they sent a HT550, I sent the HT550 back for an exchange for a HT710, they sent a HT550, I got I touch with them for a second time and again they said I will have to send it back for an exchange so I refused as I want to get my hedge done so they said the will give me a refund of £5 for the hassle I got, I said give it to someone who needs it as it was an insult then the offered £10, This just shows you that they are selling The HT550 the you can not register for the warranty as GMC Tools have not got it on their website so if it goes wrong you will have to either scrap it or send it back to AmazonExtra to the above, I have now used it and it does do a good job, it even cut some that was 1/2 inch thick so above all a great little tool

When I first unpacked my new hedge trimmer I new it was good enough for job I wanted it for,it is easy to manage while doing the hedge and the extra long cutting blade was a great help as I didn,t have to over reach all in all its a good tool for doing what it is made for.

I have used it once to trim a 20 foot Leylendii to keep it in shape as a giant Christmas tree to hang lights on. It did everything i wanted it to. It was light enough to use on a 6 ft step ladder and powerfull enough to cut a years growth off without problem. The blade length means I can reach a few more inches than my last B&D unit reducing the number of cuts needed.No regrets I would buy the same model again.

As other reviewers have commented this trimmer works very well, so no problems there. There are however some problems about the background of the manufacturer, I haven't deducted a star because of these as the trimmer, my third, but first GMC, works well and outperforms my previous two.Unlike my previous trimmers, this trimmer is not supplied with a rigid plastic blade guard, only a soft polythene sheath which tears as soon as you try to refit it. The instruction leaflet however instructs you to fit the blade guard before storing???As pointed out by John O this model does not appear on the GMC web site so you cannot register it!The actual model number on the product and box is HT550, not 347206, however the trimmer is as shown on the Amazon web site photograph, not a problem in itself but it makes you wonder what is going on,The instruction leaflet tells you to check the contents against the contents list but no such list appears on the leaflet or box, would the list have included a blade guard? Again, what is going on?More importantly I emailed these queries to GMC 3 - 4 weeks ago but have not had a reply.My previous trimmer had a blade length of 510mm I was surprised at just how useful the extra 90mm proved to be.

Rubbish! Lasted 15 minutes. All fuses etc.,tested to no avail. Have not had time to investigate.Could not return under warranty as I bought and stored it brand new for a year ready for our home move.

Coupe rapide et appareil particulièrement léger: il a manifestement été conçu pour réduire la fatigue, c'est en tout cas le premier enseignement que je tire de son utilisation. Excellent rapport qualité / prix. Pour la solidité, seul le temps donnera la réponse, évidemment.

Je pense qu'il serait bon de préciser dans le descriptif que c'est une prise européenne, je n'ai pas encore pu l'essayer...j'attends mon adaptateur
