Super addition to the Orbi system.
Purchased this to extend my Orbi range deep into the garden. It works a treat. Just be aware that patience is required on first setup as the unit requires update and then takes a while to configure. It’s tempting to think it’s stalled and you need to start again but don’t, sit back, relax and wait until it’s all finished. You won’t regret it as the Orbi system is fantastic. Would highly recommend.

Sorted out our WiFi dead zone.
Bought this for our kitchen which - despite our three storey home having an Orbi RBR50 and two RBS50 satellites - was a WiFi dead zone. It was basically the only place in the house with literally no Amazon Echo, mobile phone, laptop or tablet connectivity at all. It's as if the kitchen is in a 'no-WiFI black hole' because once you go past it and on into the garden... you'd get a reasonable WiFi signal from our middle floor Orbi. My guess is that it's likely due to a combination of the building's thick walls, heavy columns and impenetrable steels in that area... well... that, and probably our Chernobyl-rated microwave oven. I thought I'd give this a try seeing as we've had so much success with our Orbi setup in the rest of the house. Surely, this had to work...And sure enough, it did! It was easy enough to set up and add to the existing Orbi system just using the app, although it does take its time and doesn't give you much in the way of progress status while it's doing its synchronising. The other thing that seems to happen as a part of the initial setup is it appears to need a day or two to 'settle down' or work out what is the best way to connect to the rest of our existing network. Prior to that, It would drop out occasionally... only to be absolutely fine the following few minutes. It's been relatively problem-free now we've had it in a few days, despite being within four metres of the microwave... but I'll see how it performs over time. It may end up plugged in within our shed at the end of the garden... which might - oddly - make more sense. All in all, I'm really pleased with the Orbi setup and this little one has plugged the home WiFi gap that was once our kitchen.

The Orbi is a really effective bit of kit.
Not very easy to set up, the app was useless, but the on-line help was fabulous. Shame about my internet provider whose left me with no service for a week.

does not work well with other items
The system works but I have to keep 3 seperate networks running.Sonos fails intermitantly whe using it through the ORBI. I basically removed it from the ORBI Network after 3 weeks of trying, and now have my sonos working correctly again.Sky Q works on the main system but the SQY Q small boxes refuse to work. I had to switch it back to the SQY network. It does work well as its own network but it means you have to keep switching wifi netwosk to use the other systems.

Worst installation experience: decided to return but change my mind
This has to be one of my worst experience in the installation of wifi device. I have a pair of Orbi RBK50 and want to buy this as the 2nd satellite - the installation manual is totally unclear on how to add the second one. The app "orbi" even lost my network connection with the 1st orbi satellite during installation. Never success in connection (as indicated by the forever spinning in the orbi app and forever blinking white LED) no matter how many time I press sync button (I have blue LED meaning the connection is perfect). I decided to return the item.Amendment: I researched the online info again and decided to reset the RBW30. Attempted to resync (after the reset) through "orbilogin" web-based interface instead of using the orbi app. There was a message stating that the connection is successful but the new satellite did not show. After approx. half an hour the new satellite (RBW30) finally appeared in the satellite list and the wifi speed has improved in areas which previously have the bad connection. This suggests that the hardware does work but the firmware and app are inferior. I will now keep the purchase but I hope that the firmware and installation instructions will improve in the future.

Does actually work - strong wifi signal everywhere
Finally have good strong wifi signal in all areas, including out in the garden and up in the attic, which has NEVER been the case before. Very happy with this product.

Worked Straight Out of the Box With a Little Patience
I purchased two RBW30s to extend an existing RBK53 setup. The units appear to be well made and didn’t block the other UK socket. Installation was straight forward but to keep things simple I did the sync with both the RBK50 router and RBW30s in the same room and used the buttons rather than the app.The RBW30 did reboot, presumably after performing an update and config.Once all done I moved the RBW30 to its final location.Whole process took less than 30 mins.I now have the RBK50 router with 4 satellites of 2xRBK50 and 2xRBW30.
