this switch NC(normal close) or NO(normal open)?
What is the diameter or measured distance across the disc? And what is the distance from screw hole to screw hole?
What is the operating voltage of this product? It says it will operate up to 250VAC, but will it operate on a 12v or 24v DC system?
Does it have to be in direct contact with a surface or will it work by just sensing ambient air tempture? Can I use it for 12V / 1A DC switching?

Used this to power two DC ceiling fans in my greenhouse

I have a small 20 Watt 12V DC solar panel and two 6 Watt ceiling fans for my greenhouse and wanted to figure out how to turn the fans on when an internal temperature threshold was crossed. This switch works perfectly to facilitate that goal. I used 12 AWG wire and female connectors from Menards to make the connection from the battery to the switch then the same to connect the fans. I positioned the switch at waist height to make certain the majority of the greenhouse was at or about 80 degrees when the switch activates. So far, it all works perfectly. When the sun is out, the greenhouse heats up and the fans go on as soon as the internal temperature reaches 80 degrees. The 20 watt solar panel is more than enough to power the two ceiling fans plus a humidity exhaust fan made from a recycled 120mm computer exhaust fan. As soon as the sun goes down, or the internal greenhouse temperature goes below 65, the fans shut off. I could not be happier with how well this switch works.

Works great! Used for about a month now

Works great! Used for about a month now. Easy install, reliable so far. I believe that this little switch was a major upgrade to the efficiency of my forced-air wood-burning furnace. I swapped this switch with the old one (On at 120 F Off at 90 F) and the fan blows warm air 8-15 minutes earlier than before, and runs longer at a much lower temperature. Now, I don't have to "over-stoke" just to keep the fan running. This saves me a lot of lost heat and firewood. But, as with all things wood-burning--it's a tough variable to measure.

Great while it lasted!

Worked great for about a month using to turn on and off my greenhouse solar powered fan. Failed and I had to hook straight up so the fan is just on when the sun comes up weather its warm in there or not. I may possibly be getting another one of these but will try to do a little research first to see if the way I had it hooked up could be tge cause of the failure.

Works as advertised!

My wood burning fireplace insert came equipped with a 120/80 snap disc that turned the blowers on at 120 degrees and off at 80 degrees. On very cold mornings it seemed to take forever for the fans to start blowing heat. Since I use the fans to help get the fire started the 120 degree setting tostart the fans just wasn't working for me. I took the snap disc out of the circuit and rewired to a manual control, however now I lost the ability for the fans to shut off automatically when the fire died overnight or early morning. A friend recommended this snap disc and bought itand installed it. It works perfectly, cutting in at 80 degrees instead of 120. Cut off at 65 degrees works for me as well. Still too early to tell how long it will last but for now I'm a happy camper. Highly recommend this product.

Should use an electrician.

Hooked up to exhaust fan in attic to get rid of hot air in summer.

Works great for controlling a solar-powered vent fan

We have a sunroom with a solar-powered ventilation fan, which was great in the summer, but would needlessly run in the winter making the sunroom even colder. Not anymore! I wired this inline to the fan motor, and now it only turns on when the room is over 80F. At night, there's no solar power, so it doesn't matter if the switch turns off or not.
