Sennheiser HD201 closed back full size headphones
I bought these headphones with one purpose in mind to use with my MP3 player because i have had quite a few pairs of in ear headphones including the wonderful Bose in ear headphones, the problem for me with in ear phones is that they always fall out or just wont stay in full stop, so decided to go for full cup headphones made by a name i can trust in the audiophile headphone quality department, and like everyone i want the most i can get for the least amount of money...well folks these headphones are an answer to you prayers (in certain ways) for instance they have been reduced from the original asking price of near £50 to nearer £20 which is great in itself, also the build quality and comfort are definitely 5 out of 5 you can wear them for hours on end with no problems what so ever, the sound quality is also really good (not amazing..but there again if you want amazing sound quality buy BOSE headphones at five times or more the asking price for these headphones) but still excellent value for money in so many ways.I would be happy to listen to my records or CD played on my audiophile quality separates Hi fi, and would be very happy with the sound reproduction even through the supplied cable is quite thin they still manage to sound great.they are not unfortunately, designed for use with a portable music player for two main reasons firstly the supplied cable is really long maybe 10 to 12 feet which is far to long for a portable music player and secondly even thought the sound quality is good it comes at a price in that your I pod or MP3 will have a hard time powering them and that will mean that you will have to have the volume on maximum to hear the music, and i found them just not loud enough, 1 plus point as them being used with a portable music player is that there is zero music leakage as the ear cups fit completely over your ear very snuggly, so no problem with annoying your fellow passengers on your train or bus journey to work.so overall very good headphones but not really designed for use with a portable music playerbut if you intend to use them with a Hifi the extended cable, comfort fit and sound quality and price are all things that make these headphones fantastic value for money

What are you waiting for?
I was on a budget when buying these.I've been using these about two days playing tracks from Spotify & my computer, dvd's and some gaming.I have these plugged into the headphone Jack of some budget Creative Inspire T10 Multimedia Speakers which are plugged into a standard 5 year old on board computer sound card using the Realtek HD audio driver. (All I know is it works)You do have to turn the volume up a to about half way to get to an immersive sound, others may have to go higher. The quality as you would expect depends a lot on input media and the quality of your gear. Better quality input, the better quality output they give. Obvious I suppose. The sound quality is crisp and clear. I fond the bass was good, depending on the recording and T10's suddenly sounded less rich compared to what these headphones were able to produce, especially after some fiddling with equalizer settings for various genres and qualities.I also did a test on some really old pc line pc speakers on an even older computer. I tested the same youtube vid and the quality in the headphones was about the same on both machines through the headphone jack.Simply for review purposes I turned my creative speakers to the max and the sound quality stayed the same. The headphones lost a tiny bit of clarity and bass. But you would need to be near deaf to have them that high. I think I am as a result. They are quite comfy even with glasses. I find every few hours I have to take them off and take a short break to let my ears cool down. They make my ears quite hot, but this may vary from person to person. They do cocoon my ears once they are in the right spot and the ear pieces swivel a bit from left to right. The cords from the headphones look and feel a bit flimsy so i'm not sure how long they will last if you transport them a lot (this is where my last ones died). However the cable is 3 meters in length so might even reach to your TV.But aside from that they have a quality feel and they make you feel suitably cocooned in your own private space. For an entry level set of headphones these are great. Next time I may spend more but for the price point these are fantastic!Well worth the current price and all my 5 stars
