Will this be any good for straining pasta

It would but I suspect if it gets lots of use with hot water and clogged up with starch from the pasta it won’t be easy to clean, or stand up to long term use for pasta. I’s really for sifting dry ingredients like flour or sugar or for straining pips out of juice, making purée . For pasta you really need a stainless steel one.

Could you use this to strain yoghurt at all?

Don't think so, not fine enough. Could probably line sieve with muslin to do so. I have a similar size plastic sisve with a much finer sieve mesh than the metal one. Plenty on amazon and quite cheap
