Seagate 2TB 9.5mm SATA 2.5" PS4 Compatible Internal Hard Drive

I bought this a few months ago, after needing to upgrade my PS4 hard drive from the original 500GB to this 2TB. It fits, installation was very easy (hats off to Sony for designing the PS4 with the customer in mind, they designed it so it was easy to see what to do), and it works as you'd expect, very well.I got this as a long-term investment so I would no longer need to worry about what game data I want to save and delete. I use my PS4 regularly.UPDATE NOV 2016: I am now using this in my PS4 Pro. It fits in it and is working well.There are instructions online for how to transfer the data to this HDD, though I no longer have the links saved for what I used. My tips are as follows;1. If you have an external Hard Drive, (recommended at least 500GB) then BACK UP YOUR WHOLE PS4, option to do so is in the PS4 settings menu. Get an external HDD if you don't already have one. Make sure that the ex. HDD is free of data (other than the installation files it comes with). You can use the ex. HDD for laptop back-ups etc. afterwards.2. SYNC YOUR TROPHIES. I forgot to do this, and believe I'm missing 2 earned trophies. Trophies are not stored on your hard drive, but are synced on the PSN servers, ensure you sync it up beforehand. Once you've installed the new hard-drive, the servers will sync up and update your new HDD with the trophies you've earned.3. Make sure you have a FREE DAY to do this, or back it up at a time when you're not going to be using your PS4, such as at night time before you sleep. It takes a good few hours to back up everything, don't do this if you're in a hurry. Luckily it doesn't take as long when you're restoring it (still about an hour though). It'll take about 5/10 minutes to actually replace the HDD, though that includes putting towels/ non-static material in place. The PS4 top shiny plate slides off easily and there's 1 screw that is made to be noticeable that you need to undo once the top plate is off.Good luck and enjoy this product!

I don't normally write reviews but after a few negative comments regarding this hard drive I decided to say my piece.I bought this hard drive like many as an upgrade for my diminishing stock drive in the PS4. The drive can packaged in two boxes, one box in another box wrapped in and anti static bag and shock protective cartons. Some people were commenting that this drive has issues in the PS4 however I have encountered none.Once your data has been backed up which took 7 hours for me on an external FAT32 drive (you still can't use any other file system for the transfer) I installed the drive which fits like a glove and only takes 5 screws to remove under the glossy panel.With the drive in place you must reinstall the operating system which can be obtained as a 800MB file from Sony's website (the update file simply is not enough you need the full OS). Next start the machine in safe mode by waiting for the second beep from the console and follow steps to reinstall the software. Eventually you'll find yourself back on the home screen where you can follow steps to restore your backed up data (which too a further 3 hours).With the console back to normal I have found that the drive is quiet, cool, as fast as the original shows 1.77TB of data is what we have to play with (this is the full ammount it gives before the data restoration) and I have encountered none of the HDCP issues or HDMI handshake problems that others claim to have. The handshake issues that may have been present before the 1.70 patch were not solely caused by the drive, I had them caused by my digital sound projector not handling the HDMI handshake correctly.For the price this drive is worth it, I'm sure it will last quite some time and if you have PS+ it will give you piece if mind considering we are likely to install at least one game per month. And since the PS4 only has a SATA II input we won't be getting a 3TB in there anytime soon. All in all I'm a happy bunny and you can buy with confidence knowing that whatever issues may have once been present appear to have been rectified.Thank you for reading.

Fortunately the returns system worked well and I had a replacement within a couple of days which worked fine. i give it 5 stars as it is a good specification and price.Here's a tip. Initialisation takes a second. Then choose quick format or else you will be waiting overnight. That's all there is to it.(Mine was actually 1.8GB, not quite 2TB)Here's a tip. I've used this model to change my PS4 hard drive 6 months ago and there hasn't been a single issue with it. It does the job and my console works exactly the same, as if I hadn't changed the HDD completely. It was easy to change, fit perfectly in place and allowed me to install so many more games. I'd just love it to be available in 4TB since I may fill it again in 2 or 3 years ;).

J'étais sceptique sur le changement du disque dur de ma PS4 mais franchement je ne regrette pas cet achat. L'installation se fait en 20 minutes à peine (y compris le temps de réinstaller le système d'exploitation). Tout à fonctionner du premier coup. Cela fait un mois que la console tourne avec ce nouveau disque dur et tout est nickel, on ne perçoit aucune différence. mon seul regret.......j'aurais du le faire plus tôt.Pour ceux qui hésitent, lancez-vous, vous ne le regretterez pas et c'est tellement simple que même les plus novices en informatiques (comme moi) peuvent faire la manipulation sans problème.

wie erwartet keine Probleme.bei einer HDD gibt's wohl auch nicht viel zu bewerten.Geschwindigkeit gefühlt gleich wie meine alte 600GB Datenplatte, die damit im Laptop ersetzt wurde.Einbauhöhe passt auch, solides Teil.

Initially i wasn't sure about the quality of the product plus the cost is comparatively very high. I wanted a drive with 2tb space for my PS4. I read a lot on internet & finally decided for this beast. Trust me, this is the best drive you can have for your PS4 right now. The drive is smooth, very less noise & you will get 1.7 tb space. I have reinstalled all my games & still left for much more. Go for it if you can spend this much & wants a huge space for your ps4 games.

Drive is working perfectly. was purchased as an upgrade for PS4, instalation was a snap, just followed instructions on internet. Has been working with no problems for over a month now. Very happy with drive, would purchase again.
