Product Description ------------------- This 16"/40cm Beauty Dish with a Bowens S-Type lives up to its potential by offering a bridge between softboxes and umbrellas that yields a soft but crisp light with snappy contrast and a textural quality. The secret is a built-in deflector that bounces the flash's direct output backwards, filling the shallow dish and casting a wide beam of soft light forward. Also gives the image of a contrasted look adding a very dramatic effect. It can also be used in combination with a diffuser or a honeycomb grid (also known as an Egg Crate), which are both included with this beauty dish, allowing for further modification of the light output. When the honeycomb grid is not used, the light bounces into the back of the dish, reflects around the sides and then out the front. But by using the grid, when the light reaches the edge of the dish, it is channelled forward instead of going outwards. This means that it is much more focused on one spot. It is essential when working in confined spaces or close to a background. It can also produce stunning, dramatic lighting with very hard shadow transfer edges. The white diffuser makes the light more gentle. It has a white interior which gives a warmer, softer look compared to that of a silver beauty dish. Also light fall is less dramatic with a white interior, so highlights are reduced. Note: Beauty Dishes are not recommended for use with continuous tungsten lights over 300 watts.
