This battery works well. It was a stronger battery than my original, and I now get an information msg, at startup, on the laptop saying it is not compatible with my laptop. This is presumably because it is a higher rated (Mah) battery and the laptop was never designed for such a high rating.I clear the msg, and everything continues as normal.Very happy with the performance of the battery.Updated 3 months later.Received a brief msg on laptop saying something about a battery fault, (the msg was not displayed long enough for me to read it all).A while later, I noticed that the battery level was dropping, and that the icon said "plugged in, not charging".To eliminate the power adaptor cable, I refitted my old battery and it showed that it was charging, hence the fault lies with the battery.This is the second battery I have bought on Amazon that has failed.The first exploded after a few weeks, and now this one has failed.(BTW, I carefully checked compatibility of both batteries and they said fully compatible with my laptop).Why are Amazon allowing poor quality batteries to be sold on their site?I will get another one from Amazon, and will see if that one is any better.

It doesn't charge at all anymore; my laptop is constantly charging and constantly at 0%

Although I don't know how this will work long tern, in the short term at least it is very good. I have charged it fully and let it discharge twice before recording making notes. I installed it into my Dell 6420. The old original extended life battery lasted 10 minutes before it died which was ok to move it around then plug it in again. OS Windows 10 and solid state hard drive. Yesterday I set the laptop to turn off the screen after 5 minutes of inactivity. I only used the laptop very lightly just to make sure it was on and some browsing. Battery lasted 3:40 minutes. It would be a significantly less with heavy use but this is a very good result and I am happy. Fingers crossed that this performance doesn't drop off.Good luck.

Just installed the battery and all appears ok at present.

worked well initially and still does work, however, for a new battery, i dont think its that good.Not as long lasting as the original.

I'm always suspicious about the quality of batteries that aren't made by the original manufacturer, but Dell wanted much more than I was willing to pay, so I took a chance and ordered this. The battery fits well and allows the laptop to run for several hours without external power. I'm happy to recommend this product.

Every time Dell Vostro laptop is started I get a warning on boot up that battery is incompatible and will provide limited functionality. It works, but battery percentage left drops like a brick, approx 10% every 15 minutes, worse than the one I was replacing.

Item was good value for money, compared with branded equivalents, and seems to be working well. Time, of course, will tell, but no problems so far.
