Ravensburger Dogs Galore! 1000 piece jigsaw puzzle

Bought for work colleague who retired end April. She absolutely loved it!

Lovely lovely puzzle. Extremely challenging, yet rewarding. However, I was disappointed to learn that Ravensburger discontinued this particular puzzle about 7 years ago, so I purchased old stock from somewhere. The only reason I learnt that I had purchased old stock is because the puzzle had a piece missing. So I contacted Ravensburger, direct to see if they could help. The puzzle was sold as new and the box was suitably sealed in cellophane. However, I am now wondering if the item was actually new and not just re-wrapped. Sadly, I could not give this to a puzzle enthusiast friend of mine to enjoy as, being a puzzle fanatic, I know just how upsetting it can be when pieces are missing.

Super lockdown jigsaw debauchery 😂There’s a lot of sadomasochistic nature to my love of jigsaws. That frustrating sense of settling in but the pure need to finish it. But then you get the flow, and this wonderful chilled sense of slowing down.I love developing strategies for jigsaws. Edges obviously but with this one mine is Dalmatia a, tongues, faces, then claws 😂Super quality doggy jigsaw that my cat loves as much as me (well the box anyway)These dogs have been the bane of my life.. I know them, they have names, they taunt me.. but you know what, being slow at jigsaws means amazing value for money 😂

A Christmas present for my wife - a jigsaw addict!Sadly, she is finding it very difficult after many hours spent pouring over it! Last year I bought her Ravensburger "Jewels Galore" which she really enjoyed but I made a mistake this time!But it was MY mistake - not Ravensburger. They're quality of material and manufacture is, in my view, unequalled!

My girlfriend nearly left me over this gift, but the great news is she no longer wants to get a dog. Seems to have developed a phobia of cute dogs, for now anyway. I thought she wanted a jigsaw that was a little more demanding, but apparently its a little over the top. It's also not particularly good quality for a Ravensburger in my opinion, the colours don't have enough definition as we needed a lot of extra light to work things out. At least there was some vague satisfaction when it was complete, but that doesn't make up for my bad gift choice. Next time chocolates.

As with any other Ravensburger puzzle I've bought, the Dogs Galore puzzle was excellent quality card with beautiful detail and colour. Although I am well used to 1000 piece puzzles I must admit that this one was particularly challenging - so many eyes and noses which looked the same! - but it was all the more enjoyable to do and extremely satisfying when it was finally completed. I would agree with the suggested age recommendation of age 12+ - I think younger puzzlers would find it too difficult.

Good jigsaw. I am struggling a bit with some of it but that’s really what you want in a jigsaw. Don’t want it to be too easy. Good if you’re looking for a bit of a challenge
