Brilliant Screen Let Down By Average Fixings
Let me begin with this; I love this monitor!I purchased this on Amazon Warehouse Deals prior to the building of a new system I was planning on using it with. As such, I was getting a little angsty to test this out. There were some reviews for this product that complained about dull colours and limp blacks, and having to wait for the return and replace period after building my brand new computer would have been heartbreaking. As such, I tested it on my old laptop.Let me be clear, my laptop is now approaching 4 years old and wasn't brilliant when first bought. Similarly, my laptop only had a VGA connection I could hook this up with. Despite this, the display was fantastic. There were some blurry lines and text was unclear at times. But again, this was running on a 4 year old laptop with integrated graphics over a VGA connection. Under the circumstances I couldn't fault it.Fast-forward a few weeks and now my new system is built. I buy a separate DVI-D connector to connect my system to this monitor and boot it up. After a few graphics card updates and a quick configure here and there I find myself on the Windows desktop. I was already impressed. Every was crisp and clear, the HD Windows logo that adorned my screen with various graphically impressive features going on around it was brilliant in colour and the brightness was perfect. I didn't even have to touch the menu buttons on the monitor itself at this point, it was just plug-in and go.It's now a week since building my system and I've tested it on various games, media streaming services and even tried a few HD pictures to really test the clarity. All perfect. The only issue I experienced was some disorienting blur in certain games when turning the camera fast. All this took to remedy though was a quick fiddle with the monitor's menu options in order to switch the display to "Gaming Mode". The blur disappeared instantly and I can see everything clearly even when playing fast-paced action sequences.I can't stress how good the display is.The reason I've put this review as 1 star less than perfect is due to the stand. When you first take the monitor out of the box you also have to slide it out of a protective plastic sheath. Being unable to actually see the monitor whilst doing this, I found one of my fingers compressing the plastic underneath it when I gripped hard. Originally I thought this was part of the locking mechanism for the stand like a lever or something it was that loose. But no, it was actually the plastic AROUND the locking mechanism. You can literally push it in on itself just with a gentle poke of the finger. It simply isn't thick enough and could easily have come away in my hand were I not being so careful.Thankfully the strength of the stand doesn't revolve around this thin piece of plastic. It clips in to a metal locking mechanism so no worries there. However, there is a bit more wobble than I'd like. Due mostly to the obvious slimline design they were going for to match how thin the monitor itself is, the base of the stand simply doesn't feel long enough to support it entirely. It's no problem when the monitor is being placed on a solid desk, but if there's going to be a lot of movement around you like in an office, the shuffling of feet COULD make this sway back and forth a little more than enough to be distracting. I guess that's stability you have to sacrifice to get the option of wall mounting this screen with, but it would have been nice to get an unmountable, less wobbly version of this at the same price. To reiterate, the complaints I've highlighted are minor compared to how impressed I am with this product overall. I would recommend this to anyone and so far have no reason to believe it won't last me a good while.Sept 2017 EDIT: Over 3 years later this monitor is still serving me well. I had one issue with a stuck pixel that resolved itself within a day, and there's a mark on the screen caused by my careless butter-fingers, but other than that it still operates as it did straight out of the box. I can see other reviews which highlight issues they have experienced regarding various faults, but I have experienced none of them and still use this as my main monitor to this day. I would still definitely recommend this product, but perhaps not at the price it's still being sold for. You can definitely do better with over £100 today.

Incredible monitor good clarity, brightness and colour
This was a very good buy for the generously small price Acer are asking for it and I knew from past experience that LED monitors were very good but this one still managed to impress me. It also comes with both a 2-pin and 3-pin connection to the wall so you don't need to worry about any power adapters. To start I think it looks very nice - it fits the black theme that many of my electronics seem to have, looking sleek and thin on my desk right now. The matte finish is a good choice for the stand over the shiny gloss finish that will scratch as soon as you rest your fingers on it and will be noticeable forever after. The bezel that goes around the screen is a sleek gloss finish which looks very nice. On the bottom it has a blue power light beneath a piece of transparent plastic, the power symbol etched on and this looks very smart. This screen is very thin at the top indeed (only 13mm). Not worryingly thin like the new LG screens at a fragile and scary 3mm thick. There's nothing that I can fault here about the appearance.I think this is a very good size to be working on at this resolution for all tasks such as office work as you can fit a lot on your screen at once, browsing the web with the option to zoom in web pages or gaming which I do do as well. The ports on the back are HDMI, VGA and DVI so there is a lot of options for connectivity. I have my PC set up via digital DVI and HDMI for the Xbox. Switching sources is very easy, just press the furthest right button twice and it will pick the next active source; This is very easy compared to my old screen where I would have to go through a few menus to get to where I wanted. There isn't too big of a range of viewing options like tilt but I'd say it's perfectly adequate for use if the monitor is properly positioned. Just having a look right now as I write this up the viewing angles are very good on here, you will not find your screen dull if your looking from the side very much at all. There is very good contrast displayed and the colours are vibrant and a pleasure to look at. I really couldn't want anything more for this and it's now such a low price I think I may buy another to fit alongside this one now. 10 out of 10 rating and 5 stars rating. A Great BuyEDIT 1: This monitor has been viewed so well by my friends that two of them have decided to purchase one themselves! If anything shows how much of a good product this is, that has to be it!
