Does anyone know if this would hold my son's toy cars?

I have used them since 1998 for storing die cast cars for my 6 grandkids ..there are a few that doesn’t fit but very few. The hinges have held up so far. Ordering more cases for great grandkids that are joining the family with some of the newer cars/trucks.

Can this store both the spool of thread and its matching bobbin in the same compartment?

Not if you are using 1400 yd. spools like from Connecting Threads. No room at all for matching bobbin. What I do is use the one longer compartment that each side has, to store the bobbins. I put the bobbins in a clear plastic book binder spline cut in half. Works great!

Does anyone know if this would store fingernail polish?

Each individual slot is about 3 1/4 inches long, 1 1/2 inches wide and 1 1/2 inches deep. So yes it should store fingernail polish as long as it doesn't have the real long pointed top on it.
