For $2500 is there any assurance breville make spare parts available for longer than the warranty? they certainly did not for the 920xl.

I purchased the original dual boiler 900.  After using it for 5 years it developed a leak.  I contacted Breville and they said they would fix whatever was wrong and descale the machine for a flat fee of $350.  They also said if they could not fix it they would send me a new one.  about a week and a half later they emailed me stating they were sending me a new 920 dual boiler.  When I inquired as to why I was getting a new machine, Breville stated, it was going to take two or three weeks to get all the parts needed and did not want me to go that long without an espresso maker.  I'm very impressed with that type of customer service.

Question 2

How do you switch between regular and decaf?

I keep the bean hopper full of regular beans. You can change out the bean hopper but I've found using my separate grinder to grind decaf beans when someone wants it, and then tamping it into the portafilter to make the decaf drink was easiest.

Is this machine compatible with European (220 volt) electricity, if I use a simple adaptor?

DO NOT USE THE ADAPTER THAT WAS SUGGESTED HERE. it's for 100 WATTS MAXIMUM, the oracle is 10-30 times more. it will burn itself and your machine.

I am looking for really good tasting coffee beans for this machine. Which can you recommend?

You will have to play with it, and see what works out for your taste buds and how you adjust your grind and pour time. Like I've been told, you will waste some coffee. That's just an additional price you pay for owning such an awesome machine!

I like to use local roasters for a few reasons, namely, good quality.  When I've gotten in a pinch, I've picked up the Starbucks blonde, as a last resort at any grocery. I've been able to dial this one in to make do.

I have a friend that roasts his own. That's the best. I like lighter roasts. I mean, I want a strong espresso. Otherwise,  i usually stay stocked with a couple local outfits.
