40" Heavy Duty Trash Gator Grabber (Pik Stick)

Got this to pick up trash along the road in my area. (amazing how may people are so freak'n slack) and have to say, it picks the stuff up really well. Big stuff is no problem and didn't expect a problem. Small stuff is better than expected. Even pop tops from cans and other really small flat items are no problem. Worst case, you move it the first time and grab it the second. If the gripper coating holds up, this thing should last a while. The frame and grabbing mechanism is pretty solid if not a bit on the heavy side. which leads us to the one major issue.A major flaw in design. The handle has to have been made for a 6 year old. I got a blister ojn my hand from using it only for an hour or so because the handle is so small in my hand. I mean really, plastic is cheap and it would have been nothing to add another inch or two to the handle to give it some meat. I will end up modifying that part of it as I expect to keep using it for the pick up capability. But when you consider that this thing has a little heft to it and you have a small handle to try and balance that weight, it is just not very ergonomic in that regard.

The design is well thought out. The bottom grippers especially do their work perfectly. Even flat pieces of paper and crushed aluminum cans even with the ground can be easily picked up with this tool. It’s nice and long so there is no need to bend over and it reaches far into (prickly) bushes to get to what you need. Haven’t had it long enough to see if it lasts but from the feel and look of it there shouldn’t be any problems. Well worth the money.

The only thing so far that went wrong was the rubber tip came off, it slipped back on but now I will have to keep an eye on it so as not to lose it. Other than that it picks up some pretty heavy branches, I am very pleased.

I have a yard full of rocks and sticks. I've used this to pickup literally hundreds and hundreds of both. I have picked up stuff large enough and heavy enough that I had to use two hands to lift it and this grabber didn't bend or anything. To give you an idea, I've picked up rocks that were barely able to fit in the jaws. I've also used the straight side of the tool to dig the rocks out of the ground. I could not be happier with this purchase.

I had back surgery which means no bending over. I made the mistake of buying the cheap little Walmart grabbers which don't really work for a lot of things like picking up heavy objects or small things on the floor. I bought this grabber and it does the job. It has tipped ends that allow me to grab and pick up impossible things like a penny. It is also sturdy and strong enough to hold onto heavier objects. Cons: It is a little too long for me. (I am 5'3") However it is so helpful I hope you won't allow the long length to stop you from buying it. It's been a lifesaver!

Well, I ended up in the hospital. Excrutiating low back pain, blown discs; you know the drill...6 days later after 4 microsurgeries I was up and at 'em again. I'm the furthest thing from lazy, but no bending for a long time or I'll end up back in the hospital. I really have to limit my bending, so I researched grabbing and reaching devices. There are plastic, telescoping and cheaply made grabbers out there, but not this one. VERY WELL MADE, excellent design, materials, in short, bulletproof; wouldn't suprise me if this one will last forever. It literally is a lifesaver for my back problems. I can still pick up anything, clean my yard, pick up trash without risking being out of work or doing further damage to my spine. Also, no suction cups, this grabber literally will pick up a dime flat off the ground. I just have to compliment this grabber. Can't say enough. Thank a million.

Love this grabber! It is longer than most grabbers and built stronger. Will pick up a dime as well as heavy things . Easy to use and very helpful. I use it to pick stuff up in the yard ( I live on a busy street) and unfortunately , people throw stuff out the window of their cars. I am also short, so I can grab things out in my garage that are on the top shelflike. I would recommend this product . Well worth the money.

This is a sturdy, well-built device with plenty of reach. Only criticism is that it is a little business-end heavy; for its size, the handle needs to be larger for balance and to accommodate a larger hand, and the trigger pull should be not quite so close to the handle, where it bangs into the user's fingers. Otherwise, has a good solid grab onto heavy stuff that our other light weight grabbers can't hold onto. Would buy another if needed.
