I like it, but...
For the first time ever, I got 150 pounds of tomatoes to turn into sauce and paste. I decided I needed an electric strainer to get rid of the peels and seeds; for the extra cost, I decided I would be able to use the shredder/slicer attachment too. This is also the first attachment I've ever purchased for my Kitchen Aid stand mixer. I read the reviews already on Amazon and a lot of people complain about the splatter mess. It's true. I gave it a 4 star rating due to that and a couple of things that I see as design flaws. Another common complaint was the size of the hopper (chute). That also was an annoyance to me. Regular tomatoes we had to cut into eighths to fit in the hopper; however Roma tomatoes I only had to cut into half. the other thing was that even though I used the bowl from my stand mixer, there was not enough space for the waste to fall completely into another bowl. However, I found a work around for that by elevating the bowl on a block of wood (see attached picture). This also created less splatter from the bowl itself, though there was plenty of other splatter going on. Overall, though, I really liked the quick work it made of the 150 pounds of tomatoes. I also used the shredder attachment on carrots to prepare for hydrating them. So, I like it but there our a couple of minor annoyances. I would still recommend it to people, and do believe it was a good value for the price I paid.

Grater works well. Juicer works great!
*This is an update as I have now used the fruit and vegetable juicer and strainer. I love it! I had A LOT of tomatoes to juice since I was making pizza sauce. I cut the bad parts off the tomatoes and cut them in chunks. The roma tomatoes I cut in half even though I probably wouldn't have had to. The tomatoes went through with no problem. I reran the refuse back through again and again until no more juice came out. There was very little waste at the end. The mess was minimal as well when all was finished. I make much more of a mess when blanching and skinning tomatoes. This works so well! I read where someone else had trouble cleaning out the cone-shaped strainer thing, but I just used an ice pick to shove excess waste out and used my hands to loosen the rest. No problem. Everything else cleaned up great. I wish I would've had this years ago!I can only review the grater attachment at this point. It works well to grate cheese and carrots, which I've done a few times, but you need a tall bowl to catch the cheese or carrots that comes out. What I did one time was tape a gallon-size plastic storage bag to the attachment to catch the cheese. That worked well with no mess. You do have to clean out excess cheese or carrots from the grater opening with your fingers to get the excess out. I like the feed tube that allows thinner carrots or fatter carrots to be fed into the grater. That's really nice. I haven't used the slicer yet. I will come back and update this when I've used the grinder and juicer.

Effortless Grinding, Slicing, Dicing, Shredding Easy, Sturdy, and Efficient
Wow. We have been searching for something that would work better than a food processor to grind cooked chicken pieces for our cat. We dreaded this chore using the food processor because it was time consuming, messy, and multiple batches were needed to achieve the end result. Now we are fighting over who gets to use the KitchenAid meat grinder attachment when it's time to grind up Ozzy's chicken. We can process the whole two packages of cooked chicken and then we store it in the freezer in little baggies. The attachment is easy to assemble onto the KitchenAid mixer, the processing is quick and easy, and cleanup is also easy. I recommend this product very highly. We have also used the shredder and slicer attachment which also does a really good job and cleans up easy. We will get a lot of use out of both.

LOVE IT!!!!!
Ok I have had my kitchen aid mixer for over 10yrs and I have always wanted attachments but just never did it. I'm so SORRY I waited so long. I made crockpot applebutter and prep time was zip crockpot did the hard part then came the FUN. I put in all the cooked to perfection apples and the food grinder did the rest of the work removing all the seeds and skin. BONUS I had all the left over liquid in the crockpot and I got Apple Cider. I can not wait to try the slicer and grater that also came in the pack. That brand new block of cheese is calling me.

Useful Set
Useful set of attachments when you need a lot of food grated or ground or juiced.TIPS: Read the assembly instructions carefully -Run the stuff expelled from the juicer through twice. You get more juice. The meat grinder is good for small quantities, but if you want more than a couple of pounds of sausage or hamburger, a dedicated grinder or one of the hand cranked ones would work better.WARNING: If you use a brush to clean the juicer cone, use a SMALL diameter brush with SOFT bristles. Or your brush will be stick in the cone like porcupine quills ... see the attached picture. We had to destroy the bristles to get the brush out.

cheap plastic on the feeder
I like this product while It was whole. I bought this for my wife as a addiction to her mixer. We used the shredder attachment to shred down sweet potatos. The feeder tube above the shredder broke off after just 5 months of use. It was made of thin plastic. Other then the break the kit worked as expected. Due to the fact that I broke the tube by putting too much pressure on the feeder (which was not that much). I give it a 3 out of 5. If kitchen aid was to reinforce the feeder tube I would buy this again.

Works as advertised
We were concerned that this might not last because it wasnt metal, but we have used it for quite a few hours of grinding meat so far. It has worked well.We will be upgrading to a real meat grinder for larger jobs because the kitchen aid just isn't as fast as a dedicated meat grinding machine.

Great mixer. Best on markey
Best mixer on the market. My mom loves it and all of the attachments. She bakes a lot and it gets used and abused and keeps on working. No flaws. No problems plus it has a great clean looking finish.
