Koopower 50 Led Fairy Lights with Timer.The fairy lights are really lovely and make for great decor in my room. The lighting is soft because the bulbs are frosted, so it is a nice for relaxed mood lighting. You can adjust the mode of the bulbs to be flashing slowly, quickly, or to be still, so they would also work for Christmas tree lights too.The lights also come with a remote control so it is even easier to turn them on or off. The remote just needs to be pointed to the socket rather than the string of lights. They also have a timer but I haven’t used it myself, although again this would be good for Christmas tree lights. Good value for money and much easier with a USB rather than purchasing batteries

The USB plug has controls on which allows you to change the lighting modes at a press of a button, set the timer and alter the brightness.The light string contains 50 LED's of the warm white variety on a 5m cable, the LED's are incorporated into small opaque globes which look really lovely even when switched off, however, when switched on they're just perfect to create a relaxing, warm atmosphere. TwinklingIf you would like to use a smart plug with these lights, with a USB power source connected, then that would work to an extent, when power is disconnected then the lights will start up on mode 1, 'Combination', if you prefer another mode then a smart plug isn't ideal and you're best using the built in timer function.The USB plug houses a small control box where you can alter the lighting modes, change the brightness and select the repeating timer.The remote control allows you to change the lighting modes as well as alter the brightness, a timer function can also be selected on the remote which is a standard 6 hrs on, 18 hrs off timer, this will repeat everyday once pressed. They plug into any usb port, however the buttons are then face down which is a bit strange?You definitely need to read the manual to make sense of the buttons. To turn it on you press the left button once, but hold it down for three seconds to turn it off again. The right button is for brightness, and the light blink off and then on again between the 5 steps of brightness change.The timer function is an unusual one. According to the manual, when you switch it on it will then turn the lights on 6 hours from that point, and then will turn them on every 24 hours after that point. I guess just remember to set it 6 hours before you're going to need them to come on every day.The remote is your standard kind of remote for these kinds of lights....but I think someone who's never seen a number pad or phone before must have designed it. The number buttons are in a completely random order, with what seems to be a "randomise" button on the middle with a ying-yang sign. This is rather illogical.Negatives bits aside though they seem to do the job. Time will tell of they are indeed suited for outdoor use but so far, they seem fine!4 stars
