Fogarty Pure Wool Duvet - King

Compared with a high TOG-rated duvet, this appears to be rather thin. However, as it is wool-filled it is far more effective a filling than is hollow-fibre so needs less bulk and is as good as or better than a down-filled alternative. It is however relatively expensive when compared with a typical hollow-fibre version but it is worth its price. It appears to meet its claim of being self-regulating, adding warmth when the temperatures are lower and removing some when they are higher.Being denser than either hollow-fibre or down, it does not tend to wrap around you quite as tightly but acts as a thick woollen blanket. After months of using a memory foam mattress and suffering from night sweats, a new personal experience, this did not induce that problem and provided the best night's sleep in months.Lightly patterned in white on ivory, you could possibly use it without a cover although I chose to use one. It has rounded corners so will leave the corners of any cover unfilled.Highly recommended.

First time with a wool duvet. I hope the wool was gathered humanely because that was part of my reason for not having feather and down again. The price of this one is excellent when compared with John Lewis and Soak & Sleep. It's only late September and maybe we'll need another layer in the cold winter, if so I'll layer in our 5 tog down duvet. But so far my husband and I are sleeping well and enjoying the steady warmth. I'm amazed others find the duvet not providing warmth. Ours is odourless so far as I can tell. It also doesn't make a noise that annoys us. And the pockets lie flat. And it fills our supering duvet cover neatly. I really like the slight weight with non oppressive warmth. I'm inclined to believe the duvet is temperature regulating because I've previously been another mature (ahem) lady kicking off the duvet because I'm boiling or grabbing it over me because I'm cold. Unless unforeseen problems develop I'll be getting wool duvets from now on.

There was a bit of a hiccup with the order, initially I was send a double bed mattress topper, but because it was fulfilled by Amazon they were on the case right away and collected the mattress topper and delivered me the duvet.I have been using wool duvets for some time now and this one is to replace the junior wool duvet for my daughter. My daughter suffers from multiple allergies and eczema and as soon as we swapped to a wool duvet her quality of sleep improved dramatically. My daughter likes to snuggle under a duvet but so often she we get too hot and then that would start off her eczema. Since using a wool duvet she can still snuggle under it but not over heat. Absolutely perfect all year round. Yes this duvet is cream in colour and we use it with quite thin (see through thin) white cotton duvet covers and we don't notice the duvet through it at all. The duvet cover still looks crisp and white. When you first use it there is that new feel about it, it makes a slight crinkly noise but that soon goes away once it has been used for a little while. It has never bothered me or my daughters.

At first i was very disappointed with this duvet. It was a wooly smelling flat thing that despite shaking would not fluff up.Due to a dog related incident, the old duvet had to go, so i was desperate and decided to keep the Fogarty one.Ok so now a few months down the line there is no wool smell. The duvet is nice and fluffy. It does seem to do a great job at temperature control, and my hubby is not allergic to it.The only down side is that the duvet colour being a strong cream colour sometimes shows through some of my white duvet colours.Otherwise i am happy

I stayed in a Premier Inn Hub hotel and they used wool-filled duvets and I decided to replace my old synthetic duvet with this one. I’m so glad I did as I sleep much better under it and no longer get overly hot. Some people have mentioned these types of duvet are noisy but so are feather and down ones and it’s not excessive, just a bit crackly. Others have also mentioned the smell - anyone who had had a pure wool hand knitted jumper will recognise this as the smell of the oil in the wool. I found it comforting as it reminded me of having hand knitted jumpers and it soon fades anyway.I love this product it’s well made, just the right weight and warmth, I’m so glad I bought this duvet and would definitely recommend.

Just bought a double pure wool Fogarty duvet and tried it for the first time last night. Firstly, I was surprised that something that declares itself to be pure, I actually discover that it has polypropylene in the lining which rather surprised me! Secondly, Fogarty declares this to be a duvet that keeps you cool in the summer and warm in the winter and works with your body's natural temperature to keep you warm or cool. Well, night one - moderately cool weather and I was really very cold under this thing. It was disappointing as I was so looking forward to a warm cozy night's sleep. Instead it took me ages to get to sleep as I just could not get warm. I then had to throw something else over the top to keep the chill out! On the plus side, I didn't actually get too hot later on in the night as I tended to do under the synthetic duvet. Overall, its a nice item and I have no doubt it will be brilliant in the summer in keeping cool, but as a winter item be prepared to have to add something else if you feel the cold easily.
