Initially fantastic, then it gets worse
Been using this for several months. I tested in on two machines. It disconnects often. Very random. Some days a lot, other days it's stable. I have no other devices around or items to cause interference.UPDATE AUG 2018I'M THROWING THIS THING AWAY. It's only a few feet away from my router and it's disconnects horny playing certain games and it's laggy on videos. Absolute garbage.LAST UPDATE: after much testing I figured out that it's generally the antenna. I switched it out for to Stronger antennas and it works much better but still disconnects under heavy load. Possibly just a defective unit. For the price, great, but I'm not buying one again I'm going to buy a better name brand.

Good USB 2.0 wireless adapter
This product is surprisingly good for a USB 2.0 wireless adapter. I have tested this adapter with the native wireless adapter on my Dell Inspiron 15R laptop and saw that the performance was 70% of the native wireless adapter. The speed test with the native wireless adapter was 40mbps down and with this USB 2.0 wireless adapter was 30mbps down and the signal strength was at 75% throughout the test. It's not the fastest adapter out there but if you need a USB wireless adapter on the go this can get the work done !!

Just What I Needed
Even though the ratings on this little gadget were good, I was kinda skeptical. I shouldn't have been! Got it yesterday, plugged it in and it worked perfectly! My old Dell Optiplex didn't have wifi capability and I had had it hard wired for years. Unfortunately, I had to move it to another room this week (away from the router) so I was kind of in a pickle. This thing solved my problem. It comes with a mini CD with drivers but with Windows 10 you don't even need them. Just plug it into a USB port and go!

Revive an old laptop.
I purchased this device for my old ThinkPad which uses the old 802.11b standard. With this device my laptop is able to connect to about 400 or so Mbps which is excellent because my newer laptop which has 802.11ac max out at around 250 or so anywhere in my house, with my Wi-Fi router being in the garage.Installation was easy thanks to the included drivers on a mini CD ROM. I was happy to see that drivers for Linux is included and I will be testing that on my server in the near future. The design is compact and takes up very little space if any, and you can reposition the antenna in any direction and is detachable.

Needs drivers for Vista, do not come with it.
Does not come with driver software, which thankfully is available on the web. Plugged in to a Dell with Vista running, it was recognized, but no software. Will download and install, and update this review if problem. Would have been nice to include a disc.

OK, but!
I gave this dongle to a friend after using it just once (I no longer needed it). Based on her recent feedback it works well most of the time but also has occasional signal consistency issues such as disconnects, stalls and slowdowns. Could be driver related problems when used on Linux OS.
