A great budget TV sound solution.
Just replaced a massive £400+ 5.1 system from nine years ago with this, and while I was braced to suffer a small drop in quality I'm pleased to say that this budget bar is possibly as good for stereo content as it's predecessor. The amount of wiring that's disappeared from my setup is pleasing. For TV and movie viewing, dialogue is splendidly clear - I was very worried that the lack of a centre speaker would make dialogue trickier to discern on surround content, I'm pleased to say this isn't the case. When watching a movie, the action sounds really sound amazing. The little built in sub does it's job admirably. It's not as loud or punchy as a floorstanding sub, but to be honest it's nice not to have the whole house shaking when watching TV and there's still the option to wire in an active sub should I miss the whole house vibrating every time we watch a film.Like other reviewers mention, this really starts to sound amazing at volume. At low volumes dialogue is clear, but music feels lacking. At volume it sounds like a proper hifi setup. The unit feels solid, looks like a serious bit of kit and the inclusion of a bracket and every cable you'd possibly want is outstanding. It's super simple to operate, you don't even need to turn it on/off if you're feeding it solely through the optical input, it will do that for you.The remote control is junk, but there are clear instructions in the manual (downloadable from the website) to program it into both Sky & Virgin remotes. I've got it set into a logitech harmony.Other reviewers mention lip sync issues, but this may be a problem with their TV's with an easy workaround. I had this problem on some Virgin channels and it seemed to be an issue with my TV converting Dolby digital from Virgin/HDMI to PCM over optical. Changing the virgin settings to send PCM fixed this immediately. There are only two things I don't like about the unit:1. If nothing is connected by bluetooth, the unit is permanently in pairing mode. This means any idiot outside your house could connect and start playing music without your permission. Ok, unlikely to happen, but still a risk, IMO.2. If you connect a bluetooth device, if you start playing music/sounds, the input automatically changes to bluetooth. This is seriously annoying if you get notifications when your phone's paired and you're trying to watch something. My workaround is to unpair my phone entirely when not needed.FWIW, bluetooth music playback is really good. But you do need to pump up the volume as mentioned above.

A mixed bag
The advertised audio specs are 20Hz to 20kHz plus/minus 0.5dB.** My ears are telling me otherwise. **There seems to be a significant lack of clarity in the audio speaking range. Ts at the end of words are lost. Ss lack any hiss. Generally, for music and speech the high end seems weak.Otherwise, the unit is well made. It was easy to set up. Supplied with all types of connecting cables. Bluetooth pairing was a breeze using the NFC 'spot'. Bluetooth range with my Google Pixel is only about ten feet. The remote is adequate. Volume up/down steps are large but manageable.I've decided to keep this soundbar. It's a bit of a love-hate relationship. I'm disappointed with some of the sound range.Samsung TV owners might want to read on. I'm using the soundbar with TV Model LE40B530. It's connected via optical cable and the TV audio output is set to Ext Speakers. With internal speakers turned off, all of the TV's equalizer, SRS, and volume functions are unavailable. This TV model also turns off external audio output if there is no accompanying video. Virgin Media supplies no video on its audio channels so these do not play through the soundbar.** Update **After two months, the lack of clarity in voices seems to be due to some sort of loudness (low frequency boost) profile imposed at lower volume settings. Best to set soundbar at max volume and control volume level at the source. (Sadly not possible with my Samsung TV.)Also, a brand new laptop connected via Bluetooth has only about 8'-10' range. (See phone problem, above.) Seems like the soundbar has limited BT range.

Excellent for the money but with one caveat
This is a good soundbar that has justifiably received awards. It arrived the day after I ordered it. The packing was extremely good with an external box and a superb internal box plus polystyrene protection.I wanted to mount the soundbar on the wall. I was pleased to find that thought had been put into the manufacture of the mounting plate in that there are oblong holes to enable precise adjustment to make the plate level. Then it was merely a case of putting the bar on the plate, after having connected the mains lead and the optical cable. Both cables are about two metres long.I powered it up and turned on the TV and it worked, delivering superior sound to that which I have been used to. It should be noted that its maximum volume may be insufficient for a large room, or the very hard of hearing as it is by no means deafening.I have read criticism that there is no way of adjusting lip synch but that was not a problem for me. It seemed to be right with no noticeable delay. My only gripe is the poor remote control. It is very small (4cm x 8.5cm x 0.7cm) and as a consequence could easily get lost down the side of the sofa or thrown out with the newspapers. Something meatier is required and hopefully with more controls than just on/off, volume, source and mute. A much cheaper Samsung soundbar I own meets these requirements, so why not this one?I investigated using a One For All remote control instead of the supplied device. I looked on OFA's website for the code but Q Acoustics' soundbars were not listed. I contacted QA support and it was suggested that a Philips code may do the trick. After a bit of fiddling with my OFA (model 7980) I found that code 0641 worked. QA told me that they are in touch with OFA with a view to getting their products listed.

Audio eccezionale

He comparado varias antes de decidir y decididamente no me he equivocado. El sonido llena el comedor de casa y se aprecian los efectos independientemente de cual sea el lugar donde estés sentado. Oir para ver, o mejor dicho, oir para sentir/disfrutar. La conexión BT perfecta también. 100% recomendable.
