Saved us ££££
We have a Ford S-Max which is quite old now and so when the engine light came on we thought it might be something major. After analysing the error codes it seems the Turbo was getting clogged. We have had several recommendations to have a new one fitted at a huge cost, or to get our existing one cleaned also at a huge cost but one mobile mechanic suggested this. The Forte stuff is great, a bit more expensive than some other similar products but it works every time. We used this and also the advanced formula diesel treatment, one every couple of months and no more engine light issues. Superb product

Really good cleaning additive
I am using this in a Jaguar X-type 2.0 diesel (Euro-IV) in conjunction with Forte's "advanced formula diesel treatment" additive. I've had to remove and ultrasonically-clean the injectors in this car, along with removing and cleaning or replacing the EGR valve, approximately every 50,000 miles due to deposits coking everything up. Each time it needs doing I get the same symptoms - the car jerks like a kangaroo on light throttle cruise, sometimes behaves as if it were a misfiring petrol car, lots of smoke out of the tailpipe, loss of power and fuel economy, very obvious turbo-lag... Sure enough when I pull it apart I have black gunge in the EGR-valve and cement-like crud on the injectors. An additional symptom I had this time round was that on two isolated occasions, the turbo failed to actuate until the car was switched off and on again, and the ECU registered a turbo-related fault code. I suspect this was probably deposits coking everything up.Obviously pulling the injectors out is a bit of a pain to do, and can leave your car out of action for a while. Ultrasonic cleaning or new injectors is also quite expensive, and EGR valves aren't cheap either. I dread to think how much a new turbo costs. I therefore thought I'd give this stuff a go to see if it would do anything. Everyone I know in the trade seems to swear by it.First things first, it definitely cleans the crud out of the system. For the first half-tank that I ran with this stuff in, I was getting even more smoke, especially when accelerating harshly. I think this is the various deposits gradually getting removed and shot out of the exhaust! I'm now down to just a quarter of a tank of fuel left, and the car is smoking much less, in fact it appears to be burning nearly as cleanly as when it was new. The "kangaroo-effect" has been reduced significantly, and I haven't noticed it on my very last trip. Power definitely seems back up, and whilst fuel economy isn't spectacular, it's above 40mpg again. The turbo hasn't stopped working again either. Once I've got to the end of the tank I'm going to blank off the EGR-valve with a piece of sheet steel and start using better-quality fuel, so hopefully these problems won't arise again.Your experience may vary, but it's worth trying this additive because it worked in my case and could save you the cost of new parts (or specialist cleaning) (plus removal/refitting labour if you aren't a mechanic).

To be used for maintenance
It's not a miracle product, but is good to use as preventative maintenance.

Great product
I had a really bad problem with my turbo turning off at the precise moment the ESP light came on. I researched why this would happen and felt dirt or poor air/fuel mixture in the turbo coupled with faulty ESP sensors were the main cause. Part of my research led me to buying a fuel additive that would clean up the turbo. In addition I switched to diesel supreme. The result is nothing short of a miracle. All those dashboard lights don't come on anymore! I'm due to have the ESP sensors looked at next week but I can honestly say cleaning up the Turbo with Forte has worked a miracle so far. Car runs so smoothly now.

Worked very well
I have a 1996 audi a4 1.9 TDi and had an issue when in the power band the power would fade in and out. Considering the car has 272k on the clock I thought the turbo might be quite tired and gummed up. I did 25 litres rather than the 50 on the bottle and so far the issue has gone

Great product
Read a lot of positive reviews regarding this product. Bought it and added to half a tank of diesel, initially didn’t feel any immediate improvement. 100 miles later started to feel the compression improve and engine response was noticeable. Refilled the tank after using all the treated fuel and the engines and throttle response has improved further. Less lag from the turbos, spooling with greater ease. I will be adding this to my tank every 5K or directly after a service.
