Help young learners (ages 5-6) practice letter formation and improve handwriting skills with this engaging workbook featuring tracing, writing, and sentence practice. Review: Excellent support for handwriting and letter formation - This book is fantastic for children who are in the process of improving their handwriting. It really helps with letter formation, developing a consistent letter size, and learning how to leave the right amount of space between letters and words. It’s very clear, well structured and easy for children to follow, without feeling overwhelming. My child enjoys using it, and it works extremely well as a complement to other learning activities such as maths books, reading practice and phonics programmes (like Little Wandle). I highly recommend it as a practical, effective and confidence-boosting resource. Review: Amazing - Amazing for my 6yr old, her writing has improved dramatically with this. Would highly recommend.

Excellent Handwriting Practice for Year 1!
I bought the KS1 English Year 1 Handwriting Targeted Practice to help my child improve their writing skills at home, and it’s been fantastic. The exercises are clear, well-structured, and gradually build confidence, making handwriting practice manageable and enjoyable. My child enjoys completing the pages, and I’ve already noticed improvement in neatness and consistency. The layout is bright and engaging, which really helps maintain their interest. A great resource for parents looking to give their child extra support with handwriting. Highly recommend!

A good attempt to make the dullest subject in Year 1 slightly interesting.
Its hard to fault a full-colour children's workbook that is so closely linked to the new primary curriculum that is so inexpensive. CGP does rather corner the market in this. The workbook goes through the basic letter formation, starting with patterns before leading onto capitals and lower case letters and finally (non-cursive) words. This is possibly one of the most boring areas of the early primary curriculum - endlessly writing the same letter time and again. "Up and down and round....", its also staggeringly dull to teach. CGP, in an attemp to make it interesting, do throw in pictures and colour and some explanatory text, probably as much for parents helping as the children. Really each page is a mere taster for each letter. However, each page has strictures against photocopying which is a shame as it would be helpful to be able to practice more. CGP link to online versions of some of their books for older children, and I wonder if it would really have been impossible to at least link to file for printing out the special four-line sheets that this age group uses, or give parents/tutors some way to repeat exercises?

Fantastic for teaching handwriting! ✏️
This is a fantastic book for teaching handwriting! I find it has really helped with pencil placement as the red dot and arrows help children remember how to correctly form letters to the correct size. This has been used with children 4-7. Normally, handwriting sheets don’t have a dot where children need to start from, so this helps a lot. Each page goes through similar looking letters such as ‘ I, L, T’ and then at the bottom, it has a word from the Year 1 or 2 common exception words to trace and then write independently using the letters learned. This book helps with spellings too and provides great, scaffolded support for KS1. I hope this helps you decide, but as a teacher, CGP books are a go to!

Help fill the knowledge gaps
These books are fantastic for filling in your child's knowledge gaps. Especially if you have a SEND's child, or they just need abit longer to take it all in. Use pencil for all the stages. Then they can used again, if you have other children.

If your child is like mine and does not like writing because it hurts their hand, then this is a great book for them to practice with. The exercises promote hand-eye coordination to help with dexterity when moving the pencil on the page, and it starts with scribbles and shapes rather than letters, so they can ease into the drawing aspect of writing. Great purchase!

Me ha gustado mucho porque usa el Tipo de letra que utilizan en el Colegio inglés y no letra ligada.
