A simple but effective tuner
I bought this tuner to use with an acoustic guitar and found it very straightforward right out of the box. The front of the fascia includes an on/off button, a small microphone and a swinging needle. When you play a note into the microphone the tuner displays the pitch of the note in Hz to the left and also the name of the note to the right; the named note is the one nearest in pitch to the note you played. If the note is off pitch the needle will veer to right or left of its centre position and a red light will display. When the note is adjusted to pitch, the needle will be aligned on its centre zero position and a green light will display. Using the needle alignment to tune an instrument is very easy and I had my guitar tuned in less than a minute. Since then I have been using the tuner regularly and it's become indispensible. You need to prop up the tuner when using it and there is a little flip out lever at the back which acts as a stand - it's fine for this purpose. I have not used the tuner long enough to assess its battery life - this is claimed in the instruction leaflet to be approx 85 hours. All in all this is the best tuner I have found and I prefer it to onboard or clip on tuners. The tuner is powered by 2 AAA (3V) batteries which are easily obtainable. Great value for money.

Excellent Travel Friendly Tuner
Really great, very accurate for most instruments and much appreciated at gigs and concerts before the warm up. Far better than apps on a phone. Small size, fits into the front pocket of my flute case, or in a jacket pocket. Easy to use and so far has never run out of battery (years later!). Great tool to have for any level of player, even at home to check tuning throughout practices. Well worth the money,

Awesome tuner
I chose this tuner because I had heard some pretty good reviews about it. And I can safely say that it is really good. It's not the best tuner out there by far, but for it's price, it's totally worth buying.I use it to tune all of my guitars (2 electric fenders, 2 acoustics - no idea what make - and my stagg bc300 bass guitar) and I find it really easy to use! When using a cable to tune the electrics and the bass, it works a treat as there are no interferences that will affect the true tuning (I know that made little sense) so no background noise affect it. This makes it really effective. It's not 'amazing' when using the microphone though as background noise is picked up quite easily. Just make sure that there is no background noise when tuning and it's pretty accurate. It's much easier to tune my guitars now than it used to be, so it really does work - it's worth the money. And it's great value too!

Supremely practical tuner
I needed a tuner for amplified double bass, bass guitar and Yamaha Silent Bass. This easy-to-use product, which is reasonably priced, has no real faults. It can be used live (unplugged) or using a line input from the instrument. The screen tells you which note is closest, and the level of accuracy sharp or flat. You then keep checking your adjustment until the green light tells you you're there. You can also change the A frequency from 440 if required. The only drawback is that it was quite easy in my case to accidentally switch it on in the instrument case, running down the battery. Otherwise, excellent.

I couldn't be more delighted. Using as a stand alone or with the ...
Korg CA-40 Chromatic Tuner with Korg CM-200-BK Contact Microphone. As a complete beginner I purchased the most popular clip-on Guitar Tuner at Amazon, and found it to be inconsistant. I then puchased this chromatic tuner and the contact microphone. I couldn't be more delighted. Using as a stand alone or with the mike attached to my classical guitar I was able to adjust each string quickly. The korg's needle moves precisely for each small tightening or loosening of the string, and I adjusted all six strings in only a few moments. The main unit was also able to identify each vocal sound, and the only thing missing is it doesn't identify between C4 C5 etc.

Bluegrass tuner
Having bought this tuner I now believe I would have been better keeping to my old clip-on. The tuner works fine but as far as I can see does nothing more than my clip-on which will tune all instruments. I have yet to look into the possibility that It might be better for tuning an Autoharp although I have tuned one with the clip-on quite well.Time will see if it will be of benefit, maybe with electric stuff. As for acoustic Bluegrass you need quiet to use this tuner and the clip-on don't depend on that. For me not much use thus 3 stars.

Speeds up my piano tuning
I bought this as an aid to piano tuning, and am suitably impressed. I've been tuning by ear for a number of years, and the result is always good in the end. However, by ear it normally takes me about 2 hours: using the meter speeded up tuning significantly. The meter operates in the bearing scale area which forms the foundation to tuning the whole instrument. But it also responds to an octave above and below that. You can use it in "singing" mode just like a tuning fork, and tune out beats, or you can use it in meter mode where an LCD needle indicates when the frequency is correct. The only thing to note when doing the latter is that the meter is very sensitive to interfering noise - .e.g. planes overhead, kitchen noises. It's also useful if you want to tune to 442 instead of the more standard 440: you can easily set it to cover the new frequency. The meter doesn't replace the need for a good ear, nor for good tuning technique, but if you have those already it does help you spot bad notes more quickly (in my case!).

Very professional
Seems very accurate. Just takes time to fet used to this beeing so accurate and the need to be very precise. Otherwise, any small deviation gets picked up by this tuner and a red light turns up. Im feeling confident that my guitar is always perfectly tuned.
