I got this for my 2005 Chrysler 300 5.7 hemi. I've used it but I'm not for sure yet if it's the 1 I need though. Due to other ones that I have seen.

This was really a good find to check my charger's transmission fluid with. Now I don't have a 5.7 liter engine that this was designed for, but my 3.5L did not come with a dipstick from the factory just a cap on the tube.So, when I ran an automobile repair shop, I had to purchase one to check the trans fluid on my customers cars and all it was, was a very long flexible braided wire with the measuring section attached at the bottom and you fed it into the tube until you felt it touch the pan and pull it out for your measurement and there was plenty of wire still left in your hand and it cost a $100.00 dollars from the dealer and was called a special tool. Well, this does the same job for a tenth of the price.It is too long to lock down in my tube and leave it because the wire is not as flexible, so it stays bent and I have to straighten it straight again before checking so I just leave it in my trunk and when I need to check the level it's handy. The wire is flexible just not enough to straighten by itself, no big deal and I may decide to leave it in, it is only about 5in to long for my car.The really only thing I would like different is if the checking gauge was white or a light color which would make it easier to read.
