Simple to use essential Kit.
Equipment such as this is an essential part of an electricians inventory of test gear. This voltage tester and proving unit fulfills the task of "Proving Dead" any mains voltage electrical circuit to ensure it is free from any hazardous electrical energy before carrying out any work or alterations on it. The tester has four high brightness LED's indicating voltage levels of 50V, 100V, 200V and 400V, all four being lit at 400V. A further two LED's act as a voltage polarity indicator if checking DC voltages (+ or -), both being lit when checking any AC voltage above 12V. This unit has an impedance of around 170K ohm, ideal for indicating the presence of hazardous electrical energy without unnecessarily tripping out mains RCD's supplying other circuits. The proving unit is a necessary "Proving" item that the tester is used on just prior to then just after carrying out the test on the circuit to be worked on. Placing the tester in it illuminates every LED on the tester, proving it will reliably indicate the condition of the circuit under test. The tester does not require batteries, the Proving Unit uses 6 supplied AA Alkaline batteries which have to be installed before use.
