Helps to give excellent hardwood protection and colour-refresh
It's the time of year when I need to re-oil our hardwood driveway gates and teak garden furniture again. This stuff is excellent, and mixed in a 7:3 ratio with turpentine has helped to keep our gates in good condition for the last five years. I give everything a quick sand and wipe down to remove dirt and debris before applying. As long as the ratio isn't exceeded, and the mix is applied thinly in a couple of coats, allowed to dry for 24 hours between each, I have had no problems at all with this drying fully and without leaving my gates and furniture sticky. For my purposes, either boiled or raw linseed oil is fine, but I find that the boiled seems to wear better between treatments, fading less than its raw counterpart. Reasonable price for the larger 1L size and good, easy to pour from tin.

I hate all forms of linseed oil. Purchased because I'm a mushy, sentimental old sod.
Let me start by saying that I possess a fervent, and passionate hated of linseed oil. I cannot stand the poxy stuff.Even the smallest piece of wood will absorb at least 8000 coats, each one taking a good couple years to dry before you can apply the next - I aint got the time for that madness. There's also the problem with how quickly and easily linseed oil finishes will start to wear, meaning that you often need to "top-up" the finish every so often, going back over it with another hundred coats and spending another 1000 days and 1000 nights waiting for each one to dry all over again, like some kind of absurd trial pulled straight out of the old testament. Better still, if you're working with a lighter coloured wood it will be turned a disgusting bright yellow and unlike other finishes it doesn't actually protect the work-piece in any significant way. And if you use it regularly enough, the smell gets on absolutely sodding everything and you'll never rid your workshop of the putrescent linseed pong. You might be hoodwinked into thinking it's a nice aroma at first, but trust me when I say that no matter how pleasant you might think it is, after a short honeymoon period you will grow sick of it too. I'm sure this heinous elixir has it's uses, but I'll be buggered if I can think of any application where it isn't vastly outperformed by an alternative. All that said, boiled is the marginally better of two very sinister evils and this brand is as good as any other linseed oil I've ever had the soul-crushing misfortune of using. I inherited a few old hand tools that belonged to my Grandad, and despite the deep-rooted, violently burning abhorrence that I harbour for linseed oil, it's always felt wrong to use anything else on them. I have fond memories as a kid of him showing me how he would apply the linseed oil to his old tool handles every few months (the weirdo would spend entire evenings doing, in hindsight he should have taken up a new hobby. Maybe sudoku or alcoholism), and now a couple decades later that putrid, vomit-inducing linseed stench hits me in the face each time I open the drawer where I keep those tools of his, and somehow it feels strangely like home.

Great finish
I used this on plasticized aluminium shutter doors, it brought dull matt green back to shiney brand new green. As good as new again. Excellent result.
