No instructions provided at all
Says it comes with a “fully detailed manual” but it came with nothing, just the device in a plastic bag. Have I been given a cheap copy? I don’t know. The device actually appears reasonably well made, the metal valve and pump were robust, but I really needed advice on how much to pump it up, how long to wear it, how to fit it etc. I put it on and it pumped up okay, seemed to stretch my neck as expected. I kept it on for 10 mins, made me feel a little nauseous will need to try again a few times before I can tell if it does any good.

I think it is helping
It is not entirely clear whether this is improving my neck condition (spondylosis and osteo arthritis) but I do think it gives some relief when it is particularly stiff and uncomfortable. I think that if it is combined with a regime of exercises and perhaps some physiotherapy or osteopathy it may give some help. both conditions cause pain because the bones are to tight due to the thinning of cervical discs and the rough surface caused by the arthritis. So the fact that this takes the weight of the head (!) off the neck can only be good and help to relieve the inflammation.

The Jury Is Still Out
I have suffered from Spondylosis for a good number of years, which is now affecting my left shoulder. I had hoped that this device would have eased the condition, but I have to say that after using it for 28 days, with an average time of 35 minutes use, it has not made much of a difference. I will keep using it, hoping my condition will eventually improve. But I have to say that 'the jury is still out', on this one. I can also agree with at least one more reviewer, that it constantly leaks, and you have to keep topping the pressure up. It is comfortable enough to wear for moderate periods, even though I prefer to keep the pressure just below the level of un-comfortability. I also found the device a little larger that anticipated. It may be I will need to use it daily for a good while longer, before I start to feel any noticeable benefit. But I fear I have wasted my money on it.

Very worthwhile investment!
To be honest I was really skeptical about this device, but I thought it was worth a try. I suffer from long-term neck problems from too much desk work over the years, which has resulted in a C6/C7 herniated disc. Physiotherapy helps but does not offer any long-term relief. The Chisoft neck traction device works in somewhat the same manner, in that after using it I get relief from the neck pain for some time afterwards - anything from 30 minutes to several hours. As using the device is much cheaper than a visit to the Physio this is an excellent result for me. I haven't tested any other similar devices but this has a soft velour coating, a strong pump, easy to use velcro straps, stays in place well, and is very comfortable to use. I'd recommend this to anyone suffering from chronic neck stiffness / pain as a potential source of relief.

As a chronic whiplash sufferer I have found this item to be pretty good. It’s no miracle cure but it will certainly relieve tired and tense neck muscles. The claim is that by inflating, the device is basically trying to move your head further away from your shoulders and thus performs neck ‘traction’. While the main sensation is that your neck is being constricted, it also does feel as though your neck is being gently stretched upwards and this is a very pleasant sensation for whiplash sufferers whose default state is that of muscle spasm, discomfort and pain. Taking the load off these tired muscles definitely feels good and it’s also comforting to know that no matter how hard a day I’ve had or how painful it gets, I can count on this to provide some relief.

Almost but not quite there....
The Chisoft Neck Traction Device is comfortable to wear, simple to use and appears to work well. However, I found the Velco attachments for the neck straps awkward to apply at the collar (the patch is far too small) and I would recommend crossing the straps for best effect when operating of the device. The bleed valve and coupler assembly on the pump are or poor quality and design, the latter will require you to fit a small Jubilee Clip or Cable tie to prevent the pump falling off and allowing the neck traction unit to deflate.

Caveat Emptor!
I had high hopes for this 'traction' device, but it is shoddily made and doesn't maintain the inflated shape. There is a steady leak even when the 'locking screw' is supposedly tightened. Impossible to keep pumped up without continually re-inflating it.

Highly Recommended
Brilliant device. Recommended by physiotherapist at my doctors. The physiotherapist herself had had neck problems for years and had spent a fortune on various treatments including physical manipulation, homeopathy, etc. until she discovered this device which worked and relieved neck pain and crackling noises when turning the head. Get the proper one costing £37 not cheap imitation. Works for me.
