Product Description Pressure cooking will enable you to produce healthy meals in a fraction of the time normally taken. Pulses do not need overnight soaking. The quick cooking in a minimum of water retains vitamins. Tough meat is a thing of the past. Full meals can be cooked in one pan - only one pan to wash upThe cooker was quality checked before leaving the factory. Please check that you have all the correct parts. Your model is suitable for the heat sources shown below.Principles of pressure cooking: Under normal conditions water boils at a temperature of 100 degrees Celsius (212 degree Fahrenheit). This temperature is dictated by atmospheric pressure and cannot increase no matter how long boiling continues. The weight on your. Prestige Cooker increases the pressure inside the cooker which in turn raises the temperature at which the liquid boils. The result is faster cooking time because of the higher temperature obtained and at the same time the steam is forced through the food, cooking and tenderising it. The 12 lb weight supplied with your cooker is set to achieve a temperature of 117 degree Celsius which is suitable for the majority of daily recipes. If you have any difficulty in using your pressure cooker or if you require spare parts please contact the manufacturerGeneral rules for pressure cooking: Safety noticeDo not let children near the pressure cooker when in useDo not put the pressure cooker into a heated ovenMove the pressure cooker under pressure with the great care Do not touch hot surfaces. This is a replacement for an excelent stolen Prestige pressure cooker
This is a replacement for an excelent stolen Prestige pressure cooker, which I've used for over 10 years. There appears to have been determental design changes, presumably to reduce manufacturing costs. The container tray is somewhat smaller than the cooker thus reducing food holding capacity. There is now a single pressure weight with no ability to adjust operating pressure as in earlier version(s). The safety valve is now a threaded knurled nut with a hole sealed with a substance which melts in the event of overpressure or when out of water. These safety valves are not readily available from local ironmongers as the old rubber seal with ball ended tee bar, so, unless Prestege get their act together, replacement will require ordering from the manufacturer. Whilst it does the job, I'm somewhat disappointed with this purchase.

Excellent product
I've had several pressure cookers over the years and Prestige have never let me down. After use and washing I noticed patches of grey film on the black handles. If anyone has any ideas I'd be interested. However this does not effect its excellent cooking quality.

Good brand, so rather disappointed when the base became concave. Not on high heat as making soup
Lid was a bit stiff at first, but but rubbed vegetable oil on the Rubber Seal been OK since. After first use the base became concave on a halogen hob, should have sent it back for a replacement, but didn't bother as it still sits flat on the hob. Had various makes, wouldn't be without a pressure cooker.Update, despite the base of pressure cooker being concave, it has proved to work well. My last effort was cooking a gammon joint in it, then sprinkled honey on it and browned it in the fan oven. Delicious. Have changed my rating to 5 stars

Very pleased with the pressure cooker
Very pleased with the pressure cooker.Used it and it does what it says. Easy to use. The only problem I had was closing it for the first time and used plenty of oil and soaked the gasket in hot water and oiled it again. once you manage to close it it is fine

My Best Friend
I have used a pressure cooker for over 50yrs.My last one was so old when it finally gave up,that the spare parts were not available anymore.I have replaced it with this 4L model as it is more suitable to my requirements now .It is brilliant and I am so pleased with it.I can once again get a meal together in such a short time.Saving on energy again too. My Prestige Hi Dome is my true friend in the kitchen.

Good but don't trust weight and safety valve
Coming from a country where every single kitchen has a pressure cooker it's not hard to tell that this is not a great pressure cooker. It's good, it cooks it works but it doesn't please me.First of all weight is bit heavy and it's not smooth. I've to tap after 10-15 minutes of cooking to let pressure out. A good pressure cooker should do it automatically after 10 minutes on medium flame. Safety valve doesn't stick up and sometimes I've to lift it manually to make sure it blocks the hole.Keep an eye on it during cooking. To be honest classic pressure cookers are the best ones.

Prestige Hi Dome Aluminium Pressure Cooker - 4 Litre
In general, this product is exactly as expected in terms of quality and looks etc and seems to be performing well so far. The only complaint I have relates to the food tray or basket provided with the item which appears to be the wrong size for the pan. At a guess, it is about 2 inches smaller in diameter than the pan interior thus effectively wasting much cooking space. Its almost as if the manufacturers/wholesalers had run out of the proper basket and substituted one that was handy instead. Other than that complaint, the cooker appears to be of good quality and performs well.

Full steam ahead.
Stewtastic. With cold winter , have found this to be a quick and easy stew and soup maker.. I havent used the partitions, and find it tenderizes pre browned meats also. Pays for itself in fuel saved and £1 stew packs make for quick and cheap meals compared to canned stuff.

Not up to the expectation
The valve on the top is not functioning properly. No whistle sometimes due to pressure leak.

safe product
First I thought, it's broke. As not getting any whistle like traditional cookers. Then I noticed the whistle rotated instead of pressure whistle. It's new tech. Good job Prestige.

useful when you need it. On balance I might have bought the larger one but this is a great price.
