Blackspur BB-ST103 Heavy Duty Metal Staple Gun

This staple gun is slightly smaller than described measuring a compact 15.8 x 14 x 3 cm [approx. 6” x 6” x 1”] and weighs around 558g so it’s quite lightweight to use but sturdy in use. This is well designed and nice to handle with a twist knob on the top so that you can vary the actual force used to drive in the staple, making it easier to use on harder or softer surfaces without damaging the surface.I bought mine to tack down carpet underlay on a stair and this was -in effect, ready to use and the staples went into the wood with ease, without sinking into the wood.The downside is you only get a single ‘sprue’ of staples [about 30 or so] which limits you’re capabilities. So when purchasing this, make sure you buy some staples [Type 53 or 11.3mm wide by 8mm deep are the supplied ones]. Despite this flaw, staples are cheap, so deducting a * seems harsh.

Used successfully to re-upholster some furniture. Certainly powerful enough to drive the staples home. It's a shame it doesn't come with more staples in the pack. To buy extra staples at the same time through Amazon you need to have an order over £20 which doesn't really make sense. I have now sourced size 53 staples from elsewhere [the size is important] and hope to get lots of future use from this item.

not a bad quality item, although it does seem a little on the flimsy side. It did back up a few times and had to be unblocked. Although this was annoying it wasn't too much of a problem and is a small price to pay for the small price of the item. For the occasional user its good for the price, i was just using for the odd DIY job

works ok so far The staple strip that comes with it are not heavy duty staples (not very wide)but I have been using my own heavy duty staples and they are ok in this device in my advice if I get 2ys use out of it, it would have paid for its self the last one I had lasted 3 years with a lot of use

Useless - Cant load staples into it, staples are the exact right size but still they wont load.

A really good stapler - I needed it for reupholstering some kitchen chairs. Unfortunately I ordered 14mm staples from a different manufacturer and, despite this stapler being advertised as able to take this size of staple, they didn't fit. Now I have a chair cushion still left to upholster as I ran out of the staples which came with this item and need to find ones that fit, which is a bit of a pain. I think the blackspur staples on amazon require a minumum spend of £20...

Bought this stapler to do heavy duty work on upholstery.Works like a dream. Easy to feed with staples. Easy to use. Not too heavy for a woman to use.Little kickback that you get with a lot of this type of stapler.Worth every penny. Great buy. Can highly recommend it. Five stars all the way.

You get what you pay for I suppose and this very cheap staple gun in my experience is not fit for purpose. I may have had a faulty item but the fail rate was extremely high in failed firings, over 60% - tangled multiple staples or failing to fire straight. I also suspect from the damaged packaging that this item may possibly have been opened before. A poor product. I will pay higher for a recognised brand. I have received a refund so fair enough.
