WORX WG169E.2 18V (20V MAX) Cordless Grass Trimmer with 2 Battery Packs

Hey, this is a good little tool. I'm accustomed to more serious strimmers and I bought this one to clear up little corners in the grass after mowing. It does much more than that and satisfactorily deals with intruding young brambles around the borders and I have a lot of these and some other rough bits and pieces that it happily chops up if you don't push it too hard. I bought it last year and have just started using it again, after doing the easy bits, I tried it out on some serious rushes and I'm impressed. The batteries seem to last pretty well. It would be good to be able to get replacement spools instead of having to rewind them.

Its strength to cut is not very far off what a petrol machine which I also have. It makes a superbly neat job of edging and is definitely quieter than a petrol trimmer. I like the interchangeable battery system as I always have a few spare on the side, ready charged. I also like the being able to use it on the wheels provided as it helps to obtain a more even finish. It is not too heavy and it has the feel of a well made tool. I have not got as far as putting in new wire, therefore I do not know if you are compelled to buy a complete reel each time it runs out.I expect that it will be possible to modify an empty reel to be able to do this. Price is fair considering it comes with two batteries.

This is a lightweight, easy to use strimmer. We use it on our allotment and with 2 batteries it copes with all the rough grass and is so much safer and manoeverable than our heavy petrol strimmer. However the spool has run out today and despite ordering a replacement spool at the same time as the strimmer it has not arrived....3 months ago. We are going to try and rewind the spool with a refill from B&Q.

I would have given this a higher rating as my son said its light and easy to use for maintained gardens but not for a replacement of a petrol strimmer to take down stinging nettles and taller grass areasbut the reason that i have rated it with one star is that you can not purchase replacement spools,I contacted worx uk and they advised me that they do not sell the spools and that if i need to purchase a spool then i am to purchase a universal onethe annoying thing is i was also given a internal phone number to be able to get spools for life but when i called i was informed they did not do this anymore

Great to be able to interchange power supply with batteries from other tools in this range. The second spare battery with this one is a real bonus. I have tried all 3 working options with this and it does a really good job in each. This is a cleverly thought out very versatile tool. It also folds down to a very compact size which is handy for storage and transport alike.

This strimmer may well be end-of-line or discontinued by Worx. Had great difficulty sourcing replacement spools. Not stocked by Amazon. There are some similar spools which seem to fit BUT they are not marked as designed for this model of strimmer.You can apparently wind nylon strimming cord yourself but Worx make great play that the cord they use is double helix - ie double stranded but I have not seen that available. I assume standard nylon cord will work OK

Bought this after doing a lot of research when my 12 year old corded black and decker finally packer in. Has plenty of power, adjusts well to get in most positions and battery life is good. Getting a second battery is a massive plus point. Would definitely make me consider buying Worx equipment again. Really happy with it
