Good Buy, But needs Good Batteries to work properly
Good batteries or an external PSU of 12V or less are essential for this device to work properly. If batteries are low it comes up with frequency error on VHF/UHF. Though in this case HF still appears to work normally, I am not to sure you can trust the readings with low batteries though. It seems to be impossible to get an exact frequency on the display. but I have not found this to be a real problem, as I am looking for a good match in general across the whole Band, not just a specific frequency. It does what I wanted it to do and saves a lot of messing around without the use of this device. Especially for my home made antennas. Glad I bought it at a much more realistic price through Amazon than a well known American brand seem to be charging for what appears to be the same device with their branding on it.

Stupid me for assuming it would be wired up correctly
Hmmm... Switched on with batteries and it was dead. I found that there was no battery PD and the battery holders had been wired up completely incorrectly with one of the connecting wires from a holder being snipped completely short . The battery holders had obviously been put together badly as well. Even a school boy could have got this wiring right - so much for QA!! Luckily, this had happened in such a way as not to damage anything - I hope. Replacement holders have been ordered from elsewhere. Stupid me for assuming it would be wired up correctly.... Using an external supply, the device powered up OK but it has not yet been used in anger as it was a Christmas present to self. I am also suspicious of the connection of the main RF connector to its PCB and indeed all that PCB too...looks a tad dry.One simple question for Messrs Future Tech: Why should I need to be worried about these sorts of problems in a device that costs this amount of money??

Not bad...a few small issues
Works fine, this also DRINKS alkaline battery's and a good set is needed or the readings can be misleading.Tracked package so I was able to follow its progress in coming to the UK via its full route. Not sure what firmware this unit has also when you first turn it on the back-light said its on when its not, so its a different procedure to turn the back-light on. No instructions but their easy to find on-line however with the different firmware versions I don't know if I have the correct user manual. For the price, features and being cheaper than a well known 3 letter version this is a good buy.

not as described
I found this to have a gap from 60mhz to 84 mhz it was described as 1.5 mhz to 490mhz, i have now found out that the one i was sent was a older version so i sent it back, so if you need a analizer for the 4 meter band dont buy this one as it wont work.

works well but there are no instructions - as its ...
works well but there are no instructions - as its a copy of the MFJ equivalent you need to use those instructions

Good value.
Works well, but a little fiddly to use. Use it all the time though. Good value.
