Used to surface mount a new additional socket, matches chrome well, looks better than white box. Shame so pricey for what it is

Not as good looking as we thought but ok as it looks better than a white box

Bought 2 of these for 2 surface sockets on a cupboard in the living room after changing the wallpaper and existing sockets to polished chrome I decided the white plastic needed to swap too.For £7 each I was expecting something more than just a piece of plastic and a plastic back box which you don't even need as the chrome plastic slides over existing backboxes. Definitely not worth £7 each and feels pretty cheap considering they're made by varilight. Not the usual quality you'd get.

I found this by chance as I needed to change my single to a double plug socket, Just the outside Silver looks great.

The product is okay and fits well with the Volex twin socket I purchased. However the depth of the back box is far wider than it looked on the website. I was actually looking for a slimmer back box which would be flush to the wall, had to use them as the electrician had been booked in to carry out work on the same day the items arrived. It took a bit more work for fitting but they look good.

As expected

Very pleased with this box. We have surface conduit wiring in some rooms in our flat and replacing the ugly old white boxes with these was a huge improvement. Together with a chrome faceplate it looks very modern. It's plastic but feels solid and makes a true mirror like reflection (note that it throws a little light on your wall as well). And overall the whole box is now actually less deep than it used to be. There's not much choice of nice looking pattress boxes beyond white, so I'm really glad we found these!

Looks cheap. I'm really surprised that this product has over 4 stars at the time of writing this. Due to the high rating I expected a lot more and I'm really disappointed in the overall quality of the finish. The plastic cover with chrome painted coating is not worth the extra for this product over a standard plastic box. It's clear to see it's plastic from the outside as the ribs of the moulding are visible when the light hits from certain angles, leaving indents on the outer surface. This was difficult to show in pictures due to the shiny chrome effect finish but I've included a couple of images in the review anyway.
