Good all rounder, easy to fit and use.
I hadn't done this type of job before, it became complicated because the door size is so big i had to cut joists and fit new joists in etc etc, so it wasn't as straight forward as i thought it was going to be. But i managed to get the wood work done then came to the actual hatch fitting, which i can tell you was an absolute breeze, so as long as your loft hatch void is the same size as this then you'll have no problems being a novice DIY'er. Pretty much all you do is hold the hatch up to the ceiling then screw in the screws supplied into the joist above, i managed this without any assistance, although needed my girlfriend to hand me my screw driver as i dropped it. I put some gripfill in the area that fixes to the ceiling to make sure it was extra air sealed. Although you don't need to do this but i thought it best just to be extra safe and to ensure a proper air sealed unit. Then all that needed to be done was to fit the hatch door which is easy to place onto the hinge, to close the door you push it upwards then slide it back and it positively locks, to open the door it's just the reverse. You don't need any special tool to open it, you could probably use the pole for bringing down the loft ladder, or as i'm just about tall enough i can stretch and open it with my hands. The only problem i have is, when you open the door and place the ladder, when you climb up your feet/shoes catch the poly insulation in the door and it leaves unsightly marks, but as this will be facing the loft side it's nothing much but an attention to detail thing on my part, now i could take the door off the hinge and replace it once the job is done, but i really can't be bother to do that, so i'm OK just to catch it now and then, if it gets too damaged i'm sure i'll be able to find some replacement polystyrene with ease.Once it's closed and all fitted it looks nice, like it was meant to be there, so i'm giving this 5 stars due to the ease of fitting and use and the pleasant look once it's fitted.

Easy to fit, looks good
Need to replace a yellowing and bowed loft hatch fitted by the builder. It was easy to fit as the hatch panel can be easily separated from the frame for fitting and easily refitted once in place.Does not rely on the traditional catch, so no catch to break and the panel when closed is supported in several places so it wont bow over time.Might be harder to open on high celling's as it requires you to pull the hatch horizontally before it drops but if you can reach it, it pulls back ok.For the price, it was worth it.

Easy enough to fit, looks good when fitted.
Arrived 1 day early so that's a plus. All plastic construction but it is still intact after 2 days of use so hopefully all will be well. I was putting in a loft ladder and the old wooden door was not going to work this GL250 was approximately the right size and well priced. Basically stripping away the old loft hatch surrounding wood was easy enough built 1980 so many nails but no bonding glues. Offering up the GL250 was simple and fitting it a doddle, locating the hatch part was a little difficult the first time, i was worried the plastic hinges might snap and as all plastic would be a disaster but it fitted closed and locked easily and also happily unlocked. Fitted a new internal wood surround to make good and prepare for loft ladder installation.I'm still a little wary of locating the hinges every time i open or close the thing But it is working so maybe it's just a question of getting used to it .All in all good price, rapid delivery, well made, easy to fit - by 60 yr old experienced DIYer, with knackered rotator cuffs, hopefully it will have good service life.

Brilliant loft hatch
The media could not be loaded. Very pleased with the hatch. It was fairly easy to fit, it's a two person job really as one person needs to hold it up while the other pops the screws in. Takes 10 screws in all, all supplied with the unit. Has finished my new bathroom off really well. You can see the finished look in the short video I've added, if you find this useful please give me a thumbs up as I'm never sure if adding a video helps.I also recommend the ladders you can also see in the video: Aluminium 3 Section Sliding Easiway Loft LadderAny questions about the unit please add a comment and I'll do my best to answer.

Decent bit of kit for the price
Bought this due to the catch on the old one not working any more hence constantly dropping down all the time with the least bit pressure.Installation was pretty easy, and the hatch works well, a lot more sturdy than the last one and more secure due to multiple locking points.Overall extremely happy with my purchase so would definitely recommend 👍🏻

Good seal on the bedroom ceiling and easy to fit.
Used this product to replace a badly fitting hindged pull-down wooden loft cover. This plastic cover is sturdy and a much better fit and looks better. My loft has pull down ladders and even though this cover has a good slab of polstyrene insulation the ladders were not in the way. My loft opening was slightly wider and I drilled 4 holes next to the holes already in the loft cover, very easy.

Just ok
Installation was easy, and it looks very neat. But that's where it ends. It's quite flimsy, and the ridiculous opening mechanism is over engineered. Basically the whole door shifts about 5cm to the side to unlatch. I can just about reach it and open it, but my wife needs to use a step ladder just to reach the door and then can barely shift it open as it needs some effort. It is pretty impossible to open using a normal hatch opening pole. If I had to buy again I would opt for a more standard hatch.

is what it is :)
perfect for what i needed, only thing i had to do was to add another support as the hatch opening was longer than the hatch but the overall size was great and no other work was needed to the ceiling as the built in fascia covered no problem .
