Tech21 D3O Impact Snap Case with Cover for iPhone 5 - Black

Ordered this cover yesterday and it came today.Overall I am very happy with my purchase, and with the price on Amazon (much cheaper than on the high street for the same case.)I feel like all cases are a compromise between minimising the disruption to the iphones design and protecting the phone from damage. However, for me, if I'm going to disrupt the iphone design at all, the case has got to offer good protection, or else I'm damage the look for no real purpose. I feel this case meets that trade-off quite effectively. The reason for this is that this phone offers very good protection. It feels very solid, especially the back panel, and - although I'm certainly not going to test it - I think it would offer good protection when dropped.The case fits very nicely, with the phone clipping into place in the back panel. I went for the case with the screen cover to protect the screen when in my pocket. Personally I don't want to spend £699 on a phone only to put a cheap £1 cover on the screen, but this design offers some screen protection without the need for a screen protector. The cover is the weakest part of the design. the lack of clip keeps the design elegant and simple, but a magnetic latch would have been a valuable addition. Also, the screen cover is a little bigger than it needs to be, and feels a bit flappy. To be frank, it feels like they spent a very long time designing the back panel, and that the screen cover was designed in a coffee break. It isn't awful by any means, but it isn't up to the quality of the rest of the design.Overall, however, while I have some minor issues with the cover, I still feel this is the best iphone case currently available, and I would have no hesitation in recommending it.

I brought this case for my partner's phone and its amazing. Still hoping one will come out for the iPhone 4s so i can have one.This case protects the phone and the flip front is bendy enough so that when you answer a call you don't get an annoying flap in the face. My partner is a tree surgeon so his phone is in his pocket during the day in his case. Not only has the case protected the phone from falling 40ft (please don't try this LOL) but the case itself still looks brand new a little bit of wearing on the corners and slight fraying but its not exactly sat on a desk all day long.Highly recommend this product

This cover suffers from structural weakness on the LH top and bottom corners which split away without excessive use. This is the second cover I have had to buy for iPhone 5 as a result. So do not buy the cover if you intend to regularly remove the phone!Otherwise I like the design. It slides easily into a jacket breast pocket, protects the phone and is secure to hold in the palm of the hand.

Been using this for a couple of months now and am really pleased with it. I have no problems carrying the phone in it in my trouser pocket. It is light in weight, the phone sits securely inside it, and both the case and screen cover feel pretty sturdy. Also, none of the case overlaps any part of the screen.Some people have commented that the screen cover could do with a catch, but I've certainly not missed one as the cover is normally held closed when the phone is in a pocket. In fact not having a catch gives the case a smooth profile and makes it slightly quicker to open and close. One other thing about the cover is that it swings right round and lies flat on the case back, so is well out of the way when using the phone.

I like the design and feel. It works. I don't really know about D3O part but it sounds good... my only reservation is that I dropped the first one I had and it just snapped at the design weak point, the top and bottom 'left' corners where the 'hinge' for the over is. Nevertheless I bought another as overall it is a very nice case, slim and attractive yet very protective and accessible.

I wrote a great review following the use for first few months. It turned out that the corners cracked soon after and such an expensive case turned out to be worthless. So I'm re viewing it with a bitter taste.Flap was not such a great problem. Its quite a slick case which protects from all sides. If the corners are a bit reinforced I would say this product is still second to none.

The bottom left hand corner of this broke just after 4 months of use.I contacted Tech21 who offered, as a "goodwill" gesture a different cover. I responded saying that this cover was on their website as available and i wanted this one replaced. They then came back to me to say they did not have one at head office but only at a warehouse in Hong Kong. i have replied that I want a replacement sent within two weeks. No response tot hat e-mail yet.So, at this precise moment in time - do not waste your money on this product and customer service for Tech21 needs serious training.If i get my replacement in two weeks; i will update this review.

I loved the case, it is made very well and fits perfectly, however I dropped my brand new iphone 5s whilst sat on the floor and the corner of this case smashed off and ruined my screen. A screen replacement was £216.00.I would like to point out that Tech21 have been brilliant with the customer services, the problem was the Amazon seller. I contacted them, I sent them pictures of the screen and the case, they asked me to send the case back so they could give me a refund. Imagine my surprise when they 'didn't receive' the package...I contacted them again to ask for the refund on the case (please note I'm not expecting anyone to pay for the screen as it was my fault) they said without the case they cannot refund me, even though I had sent them all of the pictures.For the sake of £22.00 I am very disappointed with this seller and I will not be using them again due to the very poor customer services.
