Took for ever to get to me.
The camera works very well. Well worth it. Canon designs things well. Even the fact the the battery is out, it doesn't heat up as much, looks interesting, but works very well. Battery has a long life as well.It took a week longer than the last date that we were suppose to get it by. Too bad we missed filming 2 Tide Line gigs:(

This camcorders great very good picture quality and built in features it's got a powerful zoom, the battery last a long time unlike other camcorders and its lite to carry about with you. You cannot put a separate microphone on it but the built in mic picks up perfect sound. It features fast and slow motion and l like this for hill and cloud shots.

Nice camcorder but does not last
Worked great for a while but didn't last long. It's never been dropped and there is no sign of damage but when I contacted Canon they would not help as I'd had it over 4 months.A camcorder should be expected to last longer than that. Not good Canon

Not much progress in 7 years !
No improvement in sensitivity over my 2010 R106 .......and light years away from the stunning pictures from my ( Canon ) G16 compact camera. I primarily use a camcorder for live gigs because a compact will not handle the very high sound levels. The battery is on the back and prevents you using your fingers or thumb from pressing the record button.....duh ? No automatic lens cover either so you may well forget to close after use. I've got a gig tomorrow ( 30/12/2017 ) to put it through it's paces. If it doesn't perform well......I'll be looking to return and get another up-market compact.

Good value, and easy to use
New to camcorders and do like this one. Not expensive and produces decent quality videos without a lot of fuss.

Problems downloading videos.
Nice little camera but impossible to set up the software and play back. In Windows the DCIM file shows up with data in it, but then shows every folder as empty. Canon's own software (Pixela - a real pain to install) does see the camcorder, but then sees no content.I'm quite computer literate but this one has me beat!
