I bought this because of the size! It is great while traveling to make my protein shakes. It stores away easily and doesn’t take up lots of space! It has blended everything I have put in it well! I feel that it is well made. I also love the color!! Easy to use!!

This blender has poor performance. It constantly stops when using it even when fully charged. It also requires to be charged after every few uses and literally takes hours to charge. It cannot be used while charging. You are literally just stuck waiting. When it does finally charge it does not blend well. My smoothies constantly still has peices of unblended fruits/vegetables that have to be chewed versus just being able to drink it. This product is a waste of time and money. I will be contacting the sellers for a refund.

I had concerns that this little blender would not be powerful enough to make my favorite smoothie but I was pleasantly surprised how well it works. It blended very well and lasted quite long. I also like that it comes with a screw-on cap that makes drinking the smoothie easy.I've also used it to scramble eggs and they turn out very frothy and make a good omelet.I highly recommend this product for anyone looking for a good portable blender.

I like this little blender, for the most part. I am hoping my first use is user error as my drink did not blend well. I placed my powders in the cup and then the liquid—I recommend that you put the liquid in first, then powder as the powder stayed up at the top (Bottom) of the blending cup and did not get incorporated well. I am hoping it’ll be better tomorrow, we shall see. Other than that, it’s a sturdy little thing and I like the size of the bottle, the attached lid is nice and the pink color is cute! Currently this blender is getting only 4 stars 1. Because of the above, and 2. Because the bottom of the cup does not have a smooth bottom, it has indentations, and high/low areas (see pic) where the powder bits get stuck to, and in turn it was hard to mix it in, and ultimately clean it up. Again, hoping this won’t matter tomorrow. I’m hoping I can edit this review if the problems get solved with better techniques on my part.UPDATE: better on the second and 3rd go. Definitely place that liquid in first! I am keeping it at 4 stars though, because I highly dislike the bottom of the cup not being smooth. Finally, it actually is fairly easy to clean, so thumbs up there!

the blender holds good amount of charge and power for a portable blender

I’ve had an up and down experience with this blender. When I first got it, it was wonderful and powered through many smoothies with frozen fruit and ice easily and went weeks before I needed a charge. Loved it so much I bought more and gave them as gifts, until suddenly they seemed to stop working and I was getting red lights and no blending.I was ready to toss these as malfunctioning junk when I decided to read the manual carefully for one last chance…and realized I hadn’t always been using it correctly and had not been interpreting the lights. You are supposed to fill with liquid first up to min, add solids/liquid (up to max), start the blending upside down and then flip it so that the base is down. A fast red flashing light means there is an obstruction on the blades, a slow red flashing means the battery needs to be recharged. Flashing red/blue means the jar is not sealed properly. Solid red means the blender is overheated.I use this to make smoothies and as long as I am careful not to overburden it with too much ice or frozen fruit (recommend just a few cubes, and be prepared to remove/dislodge some if they get stuck) then it works fine. You can “check” the battery level by pressing the button for 3 seconds, wait for one red flash, and then see if the next flash is blue (fully charged) or red/blue (50%) or solid red (needs recharging)…but since I have 2 of these, I just rotate them when they need charging, about every 10 blends. Note that the blender cannot be used while charging and a full charge takes 4 hours.Honestly, I probably wouldn’t repurchase this if I had to do it over again, but they are functional if you are looking for a light duty portable blender. I completely understand why the reviews are mixed because if I had written this during my initial carefree amazing stage or during the downtrodden malfunctioning stage, my rating would be completely different. I think the different light flashing combinations are confusing and not very intuitive for people who don’t study the user manual.Important tip—the inner lip of the base is a silicon gasket and it can be removed for cleaning. This is not mentioned in the manual so perhaps it is not meant to be lifted, but I noticed that the inner perimeter of the base kept accumulating moisture/food and leaving a thin dark line at the lip, and when I went in to clean that crevice with a toothpick I realized the gasket could come up and there was indeed moisture and residue trapped underneath.

Love that you don’t carry the battery around with you. I bought this just to make easy morning protein shakes and it’s perfect for that. I wouldn’t say this is ideal for making a smoothie bc it doesn’t have much space but for smaller sized protein shakes it works great. I got this after I had Bariatric surgery so it has made my mornings easy. My big blender is great for future use and smoothies but this does the trick for simple quick and simple.Battery is rechargeable but it doesn’t last the longest. I’d say about 3-4 days of use and it’s time to charge again. Come with a blade cover which also works as a measuring cup.Highly recommend if you using it for the right things

I have had Hamilton Beach products before - have a "Kcup" coffee machine I love - and no issues. Overall really great quality. But this blender - not so much for whatever reason. Used it TWICE with no issues, then all of a sudden, it is no longer working. I charged it up, light would turn solid blue to indicate it was fully charged, then tried to use the blender and zilch. It was as if it never charged. Light turned Red. I even tried to use the blender with the charger connected and reflected fully solid blue. Nothing. I cannot return it now given it is past the return time period (and I don't have the original packaging either). I am extremely disappointed and all else. And especially for as good as brand name overall Hamilton Beach truly is. All I can say is do NOT buy this product...........
