Eheim 2036020 Eccopro 300 Exterior Filter with Eheim Filter Matter

We purchased this for our two yellow back turtles, who eat and poop constantly, we almost purchased the 200 model but seeing as the price difference was only a few pounds and the extra filtration on the 300 model plus flow rate that we thought GO BIG... best decision ever, we have tried and ruined three other pumps all of which were supposed to be able to cope, but they still needed a full clean every week and as the new tank is so huge, that it is far more difficult than before to do.The EHEIM ecco pro 300 offers amazing energy efficiency, great and makes things so much more convenient. The power output is ONLY 5 Watts at 600 litres p/hr and 8 Watts at 750 litres p/hr. Seriously cool seeing as this thing stays on 24/7 and its cheaper to run than far less powerful filters.It has a multi-function 3-in-1 handle: carrying + opening/closing + priming, it also has rotatable shut-off taps, large volume self-priming, practical filter baskets (very easy to set up and customise), it's extremely quiet due to ceramic components.It is practically ready to go right out of the box, it arrives fully equipped with accessories and filter media. You simply open the bags, pour it in baskets, put them in and you are ready to go. Easier than 1 2 3 or A B C, The Eccopro 300 is the largest of the three models, and can process from 60 to 300 litres of water.It took literally minutes after it had arrived to tip the media in to the baskets, attach the pipes etc, prime and run. The tank was already looking grubby after only a couple of days since having a full change, but within a couple of hours of starting this filter the tank looked amazing, the water flow is superb, it's quiet, efficient as promised (looked at SMART meter for confirmation of this) and the turltes are soooooo happy, they love it.We know the filter is overkill for the one tankand the amount of water, but with the turtles being such heavy poopers, we have found out that you need to times the water volume by four in order to keep it clean, hence the previous filters had failed, but not this baby. It is seriously effective at trapping dirt particles, which = less contaminants and so the biomedia can be left for longer Intervals between cleans. An additional prefilter captures dirt particles right at the beginning. In this way, the subsequent filter material is protected and cleaning intervals are longer.The characteristic multi-function handle is a singular beneficial feature. It fulfils 3 functions and is dependant on its position, a carrying handle or a lever for opening/closing or priming. Wrong use is rendered impossible due to the red safety catch. A little vaseline can be used if you want to make it even smoother, not that you need it, this was a tip I read somewhere.The shut-off taps are rotatable, making them more accessible, the water throughflow is adjusted by the outlet tap.The quiet running is down to EHEIM's High Performance Ceramics, (axles and sleeves of the impeller), as well as high resilience and extremely long service life.The filter canisters are equipped with practical filter baskets that can easily be removed and filled according to the individual requirements of your tank. The number of baskets is determined by the size of the filter, i.e. the ecco pro 130 = 1 basket, 200 = 2 and 300 = 3 baskets. Filter is very quiet & as someone who has never setup an external before I found it relatively easy. Didn't like the instruction manual though common sense works. Downside: it isn't uk plug & no adapter comes with it. This little detail isn't declared so get an adapter in if you want to put this baby to use quickly.

I was having trouble with fish tank my old filter wasn't up to the job found this had a look at comments seen some positive reviews so I ordered one came early next morning easy to set up and more space as old filter gone and crystal clear now so I would recommend this filter 100%

Why didn't I buy one of these years ago only had it a few days now and very impressed with it, it is so quiet very easy to install and priming is a breeze. Even after just a few days of running my aquarium water is crystal clear. The only thing i want to sue about is there is no fastening clip or anything to hold the flexible pipe to the rigid suction and return pipes but that's a minor issue. If your in the market for a new filter definatly consider buying one of these.

First of all the mechanics of this filter are insanely brilliant, not a fault at all, the media given is fantastic. The problem is is that the canister is cheap plastic, the pressure in the filter became too much and cracked the canister. However pet-bliss were incredibly helpful and were very quick to respond to me so for that reason I will give 5 stars.

I like the filter a lot. The self priming feature is something that no canister filter should be without, as it makes things so simple.As has been said, it doesn't come with a UK plug but I got a free one from work and fitted it myself so no real problem. I you're not very confident then get someone who is to fit one for you.Overall, it's the usual Eheim German efficiency and quality. I would say that you should choose one slightly higher rates than your tank. Eg, I got the 300 Litre rated unit to go on a 200 Litre tank. Much better to over filter than under filter (especially if you're a fish) :)

Nice piece of kit. Setting up was a doddle. Using mine on a Juwel 125 which I've converted into a marine tank. Probably slightly overkill with the flow rate..... but no substitute for good water movement. A couple of points. I bought the optional installation kits (spray bar and inlet pickup) Extra money but worth it. When you open the filter, put the poly pad at the bottom. You don't want fish crap running through your media. Nice quiet filter with loads of room for the media of your choice. Thumbs up from me. Update. Just done my first service. Broke the handle and cracked down the side of the bucket. Brilliant.

I've used this for 2.5 years now (since Dec 2017) and it's not the first time parts have broken.Within the first year, I had gotten a replacement as the priming handle broke. It's fragile. Luckily Amazon did a great job to get me a replacement.You need to use the priming handle, as it allows you to remove the motorhead from the container.Currently (May 2020), after cleaning the fish filter and setting the handle in the locked position, something cracked. It was part of the green container that held the priming handle in place that had snapped off. This has left me with no filter for the poor fish.On a positive note, it's easy to clean the filter media, you can pull all the media containers out in one go as they lock together.Once the filter gets full, you'll notice a huge drop in water output, pretty much a dribble of water.Not sure if I would recommend this to others.It's great when it works, but the quality of this product isn't sturdy.The motor is still in good condition.

Excelente filtro con mucha capacidad para cargas filtrantes mecánicas y biológicas. Para no tener problemas con la apertura hay que mantener la junta tórica bien lubricada con vaselina neutra, específica para acuarios o autorizada para industria alimentaria.

Eheim är och har alltid varit bäst i längden.Tyst med enkla funktioner och handhavande utan trassel. Har kört denna ett par år och den är toppen!
