Eheim Classic 600 External Filter

This summer is very good at its job. Everything is rather sturdy, it's been in my tank for a few months now with no problems. This isn't a quiet filter, though it's isn't the noisiest either.The power is impressive, to the point that I need to put some mesh on the water intake. The gaps aren't large, but enough to lose some of my smaller cherry shrimp.The filter media is ideal. I have a well-planted tank, but even so, after several months of operation, to see stable nitrate levels with only infrequent water changes is impressive.

Wouldn't use any other filters except eheim, they're extremely quiet and clear the water perfectly. Such high quality products that i'll be using one on every single fish tank I obtain

TAP broke after 1 year. new filters are not as good as the old onesreplacement tap broke after 6 months!!

when it comes to quietness i must say after having this classic eheim 2217 external filter for over a year now i have never had a filter this quiet,,,amazing,,,,i had fx5 then fx6 sold both due to my family complaining about the noise,,,then did some research and bought this 2217 classic ehiem and also bought a good cabient from IKEA and put polystrine everywhere inside the cabient then put my filter inside that cabient ,,now i can say the noise is 90% less,,and we all happy...also the cleaning of this filter is so simple and easy,,,,great stuff from ehiem,,,but their air pump was horrible and so noisy ,,

Good filter, not silent like some reviewers claim. It certainly is quieter than the JBL e1902 I had to return due to noise. This is in my living room in a cabinet and while the noise is ok as it is I will be soundproofing the inside to improve attenuation. Only has sponges as media but I had ceramic from old filter so not a problem. Oh and if you buy it from amazon I can confirm it does come with both suction and discharge double taps.

Setting up 2 tanks of similar spec st the same time. One will be stocked with fish one won't.The only differences are the filter.The other filter was a total nightmare and still leeks to this day despite having the seals replaced and then being 'repaired'However the Eheim was assembled in minutes and actually self primed itself while I filled the tank. Not a single air bubble or purge. Not a drop of water spilled. Quiet as if it were a filter 1/10th of the size.Congratulations Eheim you have another fanboy.

Wow what a huge disappointment. I’ve used an eheim filter before with no issues but when that one broke I thought I would try a simpler model. This is awful. The flow rate is low and it doesn’t cause much surface agitation so I had to put in an air pump too. It’s supposed to be for tanks up to 600L but only just filters my 330L. The cheap metal clips keep pinging off and priming it is near impossible. It is quiet when running but I would not recommend this or purchase one again. Big let down 😖
